Win 7 not install in my pc mother board P4M800-M7 sata hdd not show

Hello here are the homepages:

Here are the other model ( version 3,1 )

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=548&CategoryID=1&MenuID=16&LanID=9

This is important when the drivers needed to be found.

But here seems to be no drivers for windows 7.

Here is only drivers for vista and xp, and there is absolutely no guaranty, the drivers will work on windows 7.

You need to setup the bios boot settings, in order to boot from the drive.
First boot device dvd drive, and second the harddrive.
This selection is urgent, when installing windows.

Other selections maybe needed, depending on the bios version.
The sata drive, should be shown in the bios main meny, when entering the bios.

I suggest you to download the manual, if you don`t have it, and read the setup install section, for basic boot procedure.

Best of luck

I have tried to add a second SATA drive but it causes my system to hang. I have tried the various system settings in the Southbridge area of bios set up but all fail. I tried connecting to the other...

Ok when your adding more the one drive you are creating a SATA raid, There are drivers that do need to be installed within the windows env. So this will not hang on you.

You need to visit Asus website and download the SATA drivers if your putting more then one drive in this mothership. This will use the secound drive as a hot swap, Remeber SATA is not IDE and vice versa whenever your putting a secound sata in the system will thing your trying to raid the secound drive.

1. check the drivers

If you have any questions please feel free to ask, otherwise please do rate your answer I gave before you leave, Thanks

I have an msi ms-7390 k9n sli ver 2 motherboard and I updated the bios to the latest ver. 1.2. After that when cold booting the motherboard does not initialize usb you have to press delete to enter setup...

move the sata connection for your bootable HDD to another port like 3 or 4 and the bios will detect then run bios setup to boot from the sata 3 or 4 and it works like normal, must be a bug in sata 1 and 2. had same issue trying to install win7 x64. Win 7 refuses to detect sata DVD drive, moved it on the MB and it installed fine.

I am tring to install win XP with sata drive and

Make sure it is listed in your system CMOS before starting the XP install. Make sure cables are correct, and the drives are not turned off in CMOS. Some setup will allow you to set the drive types to AUTO, so you can also try that.

Installing windows xp on my SATA h.d. and setup program cant find

Lookup your Motherboards Brand and Model. Google to find the Brands website, as most brands have a download section. Look for a file in downloads for YOUR MODEL motherboard with a name along the lines of SATA RAID DRIVER, download it and follow the manufacturers instructions for using it. Most will want you to copy all the files inside the SATA RAID DRIVER zip file onto a floppy and when windows xp setup is loading at the bottom one of the first things it says is "Press F6 and insert the SATA RAID Driver floppy diskette you just made. Then you are allowed to select the required driver for your motherboards SATA chip. Allowing windows to know what settings to use to communicate and see your drive. Hope this helps.

NO INTTALEDWIN XP IN SATA HDD

you need your windows xp disc preferably slip streamed with SP 2 or SP 3 and then you should be able to install it onto your sata hard drive.

If you are having issues then you may need to extract the sata drivers onto a memory stick or floppy disk and press F6 before windows xp loads and specify to use the sata drivers which you can download from the motherboards manufacturers website generally as a zip file which you will first need to extract into a folder.

If that does not work using the memory stick you can use nlite to slipstream the drivers with your windows xp disc :

Nlite download

Can not install windows xp

hubag, you need to check your bios. At boot up, press the delete key every 2 seconds & your bios will load. Make sure your SATA drive, (s) are listed example: {if your SATA drive is a Seagate the bios will show it as: ST3250823AS}. You should unplug any IDE hard drives connected to the system while installing Win XP. The Southbridge integrates a Serial ATA host controller that is SATA v1.0 compliant, supporting Ultra DMA 150 (SiS964 only). If you do not have your manual you can download it here at:
http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=392&DetailName=Manual&DetailDesc=&CategoryID=1&MenuID=6&LanID=9
661FX-M(V1.0B)
Once the bios is set & see's your SATA drive so will windows.
If you can not set your bios to list your SATA drive windows will never install on your SATA drive. You can also use the above link & down load drivers, including a RAID driver.
