Ok everything of my xbox works now when i put my hard drive in to my xbox 360 it won't work so i take it out and it works but how do i fix a hard drive so i don't have to buy another expensive hard drive

  • Parn83 Mar 10, 2009

I have the same problem. My xbox works fine until I put the harddrive back in. I've already sent my xbox in for repairs it appears it's the harddrive not the xbox. No accessories can be shipped with your xbox when they take it in for repairs.

It sounds like a prob with the console rather than the drive. Call MS support (number on xbox.com) they will probably take the console and repir it, You wil lhave a 3 yr warranty. Im on my 5th console.

I can not play original xbox games now it said the hard drive must be attached and it is what is the problem?

Just assuming that your hard drive did not come with your Xbox 360? Or if it did then you bought your Xbox 360 used maybe? Below is the reason why some hard drives won't work with BC games. But before you go out and buy a new HDD then go ahead and remove your hard drive from the Xbox 360 and reinsert it to see if that helps. Note: it has to be a HDD not a USB memory for BC gaming.

"Simple. Certain eBay sellers try to make more money by buying 20GB official Microsoft Xbox 360 hard drives for cheap, and then putting larger laptop hard drives into the official 360 hard drive case and then selling them for less than an official drive of the same size would be. Now, technically, these hacked hard drives are the exact same thing as an official one, at least as far as parts go. They will function exactly the same as an official drive. But many of the sellers that sell these drives forget (or might be just plain ignorant about) one important thing - to play backward compatible Xbox games, the hard drives need a special partition for the Xbox 360 to store BC-related data in. If the hard drive doesn't have that partition, you can't play backward compatible games with it."

"So, to answer the question "Why won't original Xbox games work on my Xbox 360" there really is only one answer - Your cheap eBay hard drive might not be as official as you thought and is missing key files that allow for backward compatibility. The solution - Buy official Xbox 360 accessories from established retailers, or if you want to save a few bucks on eBay, make sure you ask the right questions so you know what you're getting."

I have a e68 on my xbox 360 what can i do to fix it

e68 is an easy fix, one that shouldn't even be charged for.
ok, so let me tell how it's going to work, the E68 means that your HDD needs to be updated,
so you have to get to http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/system… ,
and then download the update file, and uncompress it ,
then rip it on a disc or a DVD,
then just set your 360 to Boot to disc from System----> console Settings------> Startup
then put the disc in the 360 , then turn it off,
and attach the Hard Drive
then turn it back on and the 360 will apply the update to the Hard Drive,
and if it didn't work your Hard drive may need to be replaced.

I fixed my Xbox 360, then it broke again.

What you could try is remove your hard drive and see if you can play a game without it, if this works reattatch the hard drive and see how you get on, you would be suprised how many times this works.
hope this helps.

Same problem: 2 clicks when I put disc in, then 'open tray' shows

OK, this solution isn't very professional. I have the same problem all the time. The problem is a result of the xbox 360 dvd drive wearing out. It wears out faster when the xbox is vertical. Make sure you have the disc out of the xbox if you do this, this is the method I found so I don't need to spend 100 dollars for a new drive. In anger, I banged the xbox up and down a couple of times, then put the game back in, and it was fixed. This may require multiple tries to do, but it SHOULD fix it. A good thing is it doesn't violate the warranty. I have done this quite a few times and it worked. Good luck.

MY XBOX 360 HAS 1 RED LIGHT FLASHING, WHEN STOOD ON ITS SIDE THE LIGHT IS BOTTOM RIGHT

one red light flashing on the ROL of your Xbox 360 console that's an indicator of a hardware problem with the console connection to one of the parts connected to it as the hard drive or cables. first disconnect all power and AV cables from the back of your Xbox 360 console and also unplug the power cord from the wall socket, wait for a minute then reconnect them all back and try to turn on your Xbox 360 console once more. If that doesn't work, it seems then to be a fault with your Xbox 360 hard drive so turn off the console again and remove the hard drive then turn on your Xbox 360 console without the hard drive, supposed then to work fine, it might be an intermittent issue and when you reconnect the hard drive your Xbox 360 will work fine all after, or it will just work fine without the hard drive so it will be then definitely a fault with your Xbox 360 hard drive so call Xbox 360 customer support to exchange the hard drive for you. The Xbox 360 console might even keep giving you the same error code even after you remove the hard drive so it will then appear to be a fault with your Xbox 360 console not the hard drive & also in a case like this we need to contact Xbox 360 customer support to exchange the console.

Corrupted profile on XBox 360

I have heared that if you just delete the profile, just the profile, everything will be just fine (note: This only works if your profile is on xbox live).
Just go to memor, then go into the saving device the corrupted profile is on. Then "click" on the botton that says profile and delete the corrupted profile. Remember; the profile will be a small save and not taking up most of your harddrive, look for something with MB size, not GB size. When you have done this, go to "recover gamertag" and do so for the profile you just deleted. After all this, your game saves and achivements should be present and working.

First, Unplug everything including harddrive.

Next, Wait thirty seconds.

Then, Plug everything even harddrive.

Finally, Try it out see if it works. If it doesn't call Microsoft.
