This printer is slow when printing multiple copies of the same page, as thought it has to render the page all over again each time. Shouldn't multiple copies be faster? I am connect to the printer with ethernet 100BaseT to a Mac running OS 10.6, with a LPR connection to the printer. I think the printer ran faster with Appletalk, but Appletalk is no longer supported in Mac OS 10.6

SOURCE: Printer will not print

1. Printing from one computer directly to the printer requires a crossover cable. The reason they are telling you to use a router is so you can use a standard wired cable. You can print direct to the printer from the ethernet port via a crossover cable.
2. On the settings. First, go into the nework settings and turn OFF the auto dhcp. What it is most likely doing it switching the IP address on you. Set that to manual or static, then enter the appropriate IP address.
Set that IP address in the driver under the port configuration.
So in order, can the router unless you are going to run your network through it also. And use a crossover cable to run directly from the conputer to the printer. Then turn off the AUTO on the IP address settings and make the IP address static.
Then print out a configuration page to confirm the IP settings then set the printer up from there.
The crossover cable for direct computer to printer is te key.

SOURCE: WorkCentre C2424 Scanning Mac OS X.

Well I haven't necessarily scanned often, but i do know if you open up a program such as word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Corel, etc... You are given an option to scan. That way you can scan information, images and such to that program in which you use. C2424 wont give you any support because its a primary printer but the drivers should include drivers for the scanner and the computer to interconnect. If you have any photo like software on your mac. Try looking at the options at your top menu for an option or "import"
Many times it will give you the option to scan from a device.

To scan to computer its software based. Also on the Panel on the printer you should be given an option to scan. If printer is connected by USB it will be easier to detect scans from panel, but if your printer is connected via Ethernet it will be different.

I hope this helps. Try using a program that you can use to edit pictures or display. You should be given an option.

I hope this helps. Let me know what you do? and possibly i can mirror what you do on my own mac

SOURCE: Xerox Phaser 7300DN will not collate

Try using the PCL driver from the Xerox website, rather than the Postscript one supplied with the printer.

I had the same problem and installing the PCL driver solved it.

SOURCE: Xerox DCCS50 to DC12, change Cobra with X12 fiery

at the end of setting up network settings it should ask if you want to save settings, click yes then its enabled. i have never had a fiery that doesnt hold its settings so its probably something you arent pressing.
there is an issue with one of the mac OS's that it just doesnt like the old fiery rips and you will never be able to print, but i'm not that clued up on the mac side and cant remember, sorry.
from your add printer section it should automatically see the x12 and give you the options of a hold, print and direct queue. I f you havent got a pc then the only queues that is useful to you is direct. Print holds the job on the hard drive and will eventually fill the server

Will not print from the computer to the printer. I brought up a picture and pushed print and it just pulled in the paper and it was blank

* Check your warranty. Call for support.

*** Following is for information only.***
* Brand, Model for specific solutions.
* Computers and printers perform many functions.
* Just printing B/W documents are a thing of the past.
* Just printing a document requires the user to identify:
* Size of paper to be used. A4, 5x8", 8x10, banner, etc.
* Quality of paper; Plain, semi gloss, bright white, photo, etc.
* Orientation of document or picture; Portrait or Landscape
* Multiple copy.
* Size of document; Standard paper, Multiple (expanded) poster, Shrink (Reduced to fit page), Reduced to wallet size., etc.
* Color shift (effects) Print in grey scale.
* Print in reverse for T-shirt transfers or window posters.
* many more options depending on the printer. (some print on cakes)
* The point is that these or most of these have to be set up by the user EACH TIME you need to print something. The printer may be set for poster sized pictures but you just want to print a simple letter. This poster setting (depending on how many sheets per poster) may be the upper right corner of the document is blank. It did print but it started in an area that does not have anything to print.
* Another issue with printing (more common) is how many sheets are you printing. Depending on your CPU speed, each page needs to be processed (rendered) to be accepted by the printer. My Lenovo ideapad takes 2-3 mins to render 1 page. Printing 15 pages (or copy) takes over 30 mins to render before it prints the first sheet.
* Which order of print? Was the last page printed first? Is the last page blank?
* Wireless printers also take time to transfer data to the print buffer. This is also depends on your router or WiFi speed. (or network)
* To check your setup use the "Preview" option. Not how the document is pictured on the printed sheet. Pre-view saves on wasting paper on miss prints due to incorrect settings.
* Check your printer manual on setting up for a specific paper, document size, quality, and other issues.
Aloha, ukeboy57

PS, the issue of lost connection (WiFi) will stop the print. Eject the last page (partial print). Some machines will eject page only after a restart or reset.
* Perform a "Test Print" using the printer test mode (to check if the printer is out of ink.)
* Perform a print of a single page letter from the computer to test the connection to printer.
* Use the computer to check the printer app. look at the ink levels. Perform a system check of the printer operations.

When we give a print but signals are going to printer but output nil

First I'm not a printer tech, but I have similar problems with my new wireless Cannon Ink jet printer MG3022 (purchased 2018)
* It takes a lot (I mean a LONG) time for the CPU to process each page to be printed. I believe the printer has to have an image created for each page. Yeah, EACH page! That means if you want 5 copies of the same item. the computer will have to create 5 images and send them wire less to the printer. BUT, it won't print the first page until all the image processing is done. This is a real pain if your in a hurry. Best solution is to print one page, Prof read it (as it may have errors and you have to start all over again.). Once approved and time willing, go ahead and process multiple copies.
* Do Not load up the print queue as this will make the print processing times even worse as it still won't print the first page unless all the processing is done.
* Don't forget to clear the print queue if your cancelling the print as it's taking too long and you walk away from the printer. It will keep processing the images at a later date and slow down the computer as it works on it in the background. Many times I've wondered what slows down the computer only to find 20 pages being process and not properly cancelled from the queue. (mostly kids homework...humm.. if they did not print it. How did they turn it in?)
* Keep an eye on the printer options; Draft mode and Monochrome is the fastest setting on most printers. If this quality is adequate for your use then use it if your hurried for time. (it also saves on ink)
* Wire less printers are finiky about having a good connection. Note that the signals are usually sent to the router and then back to the printer. I have my laptop (Lenovo purchased 2018) right next to the printer but if the router is slow (too many kids on the router) then signals get delayed and sometimes the computer will error on time out for slow connection. Suppositly there is a direct wireless connection but I've found that if the router is down or slow the printer won't work.
* FYI, I had to get a new laptop (this one) in order to get the printer (new cannon) to work as my original Epson printer got a "printer too old" error. (and I had that one for 5 years with refillable ink wells too!) Now stuck with buying new ink packs every month.
* I know this is not a real answer but I hope by keeping the copies to minimum (and using a real copy machine to make copies.). Using the lowest quality print required. This may help you reduce your wait times.
Aloha, ukeboy57
PS on the off chance everything is connected, processed, and printer is fully filled with new ink, cleaned, Head aligned, good to print. Then you may have a bad; Computer(wireless section bad though unlikely), No wireless LAN connection(or wrong LAN system, as office buildings have multiple systems ans lots of printers.), or just a bad printer. Get help from IT tech to identify the clogged line or bad equipment. If your using a home set up, try to delete the printer and reload the driver and install the printer again to the computer and LAN set up.

How do I set my Brother NFC 665-CW to print multiple pages?

do u mean the whole multi-page doc or multiple copies of the same page?
the former would be what u tell it to print (whole document vs current page). The latter would be in the printer properties config page.

When I print a one page document, tray 1 prints on multiple papers at a time. 1 page prints on 5 pages.

If you don't have a manual, you can find one here

My guess is either on the printer or the driver. Skimming the manual, it doesn't seem that you can set the default number of pages printed per sent print job on the printer, but that is something I would look into. This is a nice office printer, perhaps the printer is set to print multiple copies of everything it is sent. You could determine if it is the printer or driver/computer by printing to it from another computer.

If it is the computer, go into the control panel and select the properties for this printer. In there, check if the number of copies is improperly set to 5. This would happen for every print job sent from this system.

Does it print 5 copies of documents sent from different programs (i.e. Web Page, Word, Excel)? Quite possibly, one time you set it to print 5 copies and that application retained that as default. In that application, rather than clicking "print" click "printer setup" and look through the settings to see if it is requesting multiple copies.

I am 95% sure one of these three solutions will solve your problem.

How do you copy a packet with multiple pages and print multiple copies of it while keeping each printed packet together and in order just like the original?

Unless you have an office type printer with a collator, then you can't with a inexpensive inkjet printer.
You have to print the same document over and over again.
Otherwise you print the number of copies you require and sort the pages later.

Printing multiple pages per sheet

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Normal 0 Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
