Replace cartridge error

The red light flashes and replace cartridge message shows in screen, i've replaced it with a new, out of the box cartridge, still shows error. it will print, but not the fax received in memory.

    I have the same problem. I've replaced the cartridge, unplugged the phone line and it still says I need to replace the cartridge and won't print the fax received in memory. Can someone help?

I had the same problem with the same model. I unplugged the phone line and the problem went away.

It is obvious it has a failed electronic component, since these are not repaired/exchanged except when they are under warranty best thing to do is just replace it.

The error code that you are experiencing is as follows;
F2 73 IMPROPER TONER CARTRIDGE DETECTION (YELLOW)
You need to replace the yellow cartridge with the proper part # Item Number: MX 31NTYA, MX31NTYA.

This is codes for the ink cartridge. The code means there is a problem with the cartridge. Change them both and restart the machine.

Why is print quality poor after inserting new ink. Copies are faint and have lines


the cartridge is clogged with ink that has dried and reduced the slit. you need to replace the cartridge with a new one. it happens usually if you recharge the cartridge 3 or 4 times with compatible ink.

How does the bulb look? Is it bright or kind of dim. The bulb warming error is designed to halt use of the machine until the scanner bulb reaches the correct output level. As these are basically a flourescent tube, they will dim over time and at a certain point they will not generate enough light to enable proper scanning. If the bulb is dim, it will require replacement.

Printer won't recognize cartridge


I had the same problem. I'm not sure but I think I replaced the cartridges when the printer was on because I turned the printer off and removed one of the cartridges. When I turned the printer back on it recognized that cartridge but not the others. I turned the printer off again, rmoved all cartiridges and put them back in when the printer was still off. When I turned the printer on again I had no problems. So...try turning off the printer, rmove all cartridges, then put them back in and restart printer. Hope this works for you .
