Question about Whirlpool GEW9200L Electric Dryer

Dryer not getting any power

I have a whirlpool duet dryer model number GEW9200LW1.  I am not getting any power to control board, nor is the inside light coming on.  I checked the breaker and it is on.  Also, the washer is getting power.  I had researched earlier and checked the thermal fuse and there was a dime that was resting on one of the connections.  Apparently it had been there for a while because half of the terminal was burnt through.  I went to sears and replaced the thermal fuse, then plugged it back up and still not getting any power.  I bought a multimeter and checked for continuity at the plug and it worked.  I'm afraid the dryer has shorted out.  Is there any other fuses that may be shorted out or will i have to replace entire electrical boards.  Please Help.
thanks

I have ordered the main control board and it should be here in about 4 days so I will update when I see if it is the problem

Same problem only ours was a quarter. I'm assuming it the control board cause everything else has power and all disc and fuses check out.

Whirlpool needs to be notified of this problem. I'm going to cover the thermal fuse with electrical tape to prevent this from happening again.

    150.00 for a new board????

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

This is a common issue with Whirlpool Duet however, your whirlpool duet needs a reset to resolve the control lock problem. Press and hold the END OF CYCLE/CYCLE SIGNAL button for 15 seconds to reset the control. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

so you started first by checking the dryer door switch correct? then if you had a multimeter you would check that power does come in from the wall and goto the board then leaves the board and goes to the motor as well and also goes to the timer as well Do you have any error codes at all?if the dryer door switch is bad this could be why your motor is not starting please message me back with your reply Thanks again Rick

Dirty moisture sensing strips? Have you tried cleaning them with windex?e03f8f0.jpg

Number 34 these measure resistance by picking up wetness from the clothes. Dryer sheets can coat these with a non penatrable film which fools the brain into thinking them clothes is dry so it moves towards the cooldown mode and shuts off with wet clothes. Clean them sensor strips real good and party on!

The model number tells only the year that model is introduced but the serial number tells the year and the week of production.

Replace heating element for Duet Dryer GEW9200LW1

First disconnect the power to the dryer by unplugging it from the wall. Then remove the 3 screws on the lower panel of the dryer. This should expose the heating element in a metal housing on the right side of the dryer. Disconnect the 2 wires going to the heating element and slide it out of the housing. The heating element part number is 3387747.
