Hi, I lost someting like 300 photos all of a sudden and for no reason in the middle of a tour of Costa Rica. I have a Canon PowerShot A720. The card is a SanDisk Extreme III 2.0 GB. My camera doesn't see the photos on the card (if still there ???) in the REPLAY mode. My iMac computer doesn't see them as well when I attempt to download with iPhoto ??? Any idea why it happened and if there is a way I can recover my photos ??? P Gaudette - Montreal, Canada

Hello pgaudette1
To recover accidentally erased data , try http://www.recovermemorycards.com/
Probably the data were erased when extracting the card with the camera still " on " , but this is only a supposition .

How do I save the photospn my Canon Powershot A720 IS to a memory card?

If you want to copy from memory card to another you'll need to do this in your computer, copy from card 1 and paste to card 2.

Find the serial number

Easy way to find a serial number for any camera is open a photo with any editing software and look at the EXIF data. The serial number is near the middle. If you want the easy free way, download Irfanview, open any photo from your camera, hit I (information) and then E (EXIF) you will see all the settings and the serial number.

I've lost the intall disc for my Canon A720. I'm

This type of question comes up several times a day here at Fixya. Unfortunately, Canon does not offer replacement software disks. You can search eBay for a replacement disk, but would instead recommend that you please see this article, as it describes the use of an inexpensive card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos and videos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue.

Cannot transfer pictures from CX7330 to computer. Worked fine about a month ago.

I have a Canon PowerShot A720 and have lost the disk to download drivers so I can get the photos off of my camera. Do you have any suggestions. I have tried to find them on the internet with no success. Help Please!!

Lost my Canon PowerShot A560 disk

As a solution I highly recommend that you forego the old cable to the camera route, and instead consider a card reader to download your photos to your computer. Card readers are very inexpensive, much much faster downloading photos from the camera, do not use the camera's batteries during download, and are much less prone to file corruption of the photos during the download.

You place the camera's card in the reader, and your computer sees it as a hard drive. You simply copy/paste or drag/drop your photos onto your hard drive. For all of these reasons, most professional photographers utilize card readers exclusively. Really, you'll save yourself a lot of headache. Here are some examples from Amazon. Also, don't be fooled by the cost. some of the cheap ones work just fine. Go by the reviews. Also make sure you get a reader that is stated capable of reading your card (particularly if you have an SDHC card):

For international readers, here's another source for card readers (free international shipping too :-)

Manual for my Powershot A720 IS.

Log onto www.powershot.com and in the canon consumer search bar at top type in a720. On recommended links, click the first one which will be the a720 homepage. Once you see the image of the camera and 7 tabs below, click on drivers and downloads.

Look under Guides and Manuals and you will find what you are looking for.

Hope this helps!
