It's probably the thermostat / thermal cutout (TCO) mounted on the magnetron or the cavity.

Be sure the end caps of the fuse are not loose. That can fool you.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

While baking a sweet potato, the potato exploded and caught on fire. The microwave no longer works.a fire bro

I haven't heard of such a thing. You must have cooked it until there was no moisture left in the potato. That would also account for the failure of the oven. It would be the same as no load in the oven.
A thermal protect part is your current problem.

Lg lmlv2055sb just stopped working

6 years may be the point where the repair could cost more than a new unit----Call a local shop to see what it costs to look at the unit and if possible get a ballpark estimate---then weigh repair versus replacement.

I microwaved something while leaving chinese (metal) container in kenmore 665.61612100 microwave, and it stopped working. What do I do?

The magnetron may have been damaged, the thermal fuse will shut down the microwave to stop further damage and reset itself in 20 to 30 minutes, since that has not happened I recommend a professional at this point.

Microwave wont work

The microswitch operated by the door catch will need to be repositioned by a serviceman. Do not remove the microwave cover yourself as they are potentially lethal even when not plugged in to a power source because of a large capacitor holding high voltage charge.

No power

Hello there:
what you are going to have to do is:
(1) remove the screws in the back that hold on the cover than look under the microwave and see if there is any screws there and remove them also
(2) now remove the cover and look up towards the front right side top area and you should see a fuse remove the fuse and replacce it than plug in the unit and see if it works if so replace the cover and all screws and you are good to go ok?
If none of the above have seemed to help than i would contact a local authorized repair shop and have the unit serviced ok?
i hope that this is very helpfull for you
best regards michael

Model jvm131h002 Stopped working. no power or

yes, at the back of the microwave there are 4 or 6 screws, take them out and then pull the cover follow the cable( the one you connect to the outlet) going to the inside of the microwave inside you will see the fuse change it with the same size, it is a slow burn fuse

Dead microwave

There are replacable fuses inside. Taking the microwave apart requires removal of a lot of screws and the cover that can be rather bulky. make sure it's unplugged and safe before you begin. you can get replacement fuses at radio shack, ect. be sure to buy the same type and amperage. if the blow a second time there may be other issues.

Ge jvm1870 it won't heat anything, all other items work

Ok, if this unit has stopped heating, this will confirm a major fault within the Magnetron. this device is responsible for the heating affect and, you will need to replace this damaged part in order to restore proper heating functions in you microwave oven.
