Im not able to play my dvd when i insert the dvd in the dvd drive

Insert a DVD disc into the DVD drive.
Open My Computer then right click on the DVD drive (it maybe the D drive) - click on Properties - then click on Autoplay..

If you still have garanty use it, you need to change the dvd drive.

Try inserting a CD+R. im willing to bet the ones your putting in are CD-R. See if it plays those.

the drive is not recognizing any dvd. this happens when you insert dvd into cd drive. if this happens with dvd drive its factory malfunction probably so if you can-replace it

Change your cd/dvd drive.

One of two possibilities:

1. Your laptop does not have a DVD player installed. Check the bezel on the optical drive and see if it says DVD on it. If not, then it won't play DVDs.

2. The DVD player needs to be replaced as the DVD laser has gone bad.

Try and clean the DVD drive first.If that don' work you need to get a new dvd drive.

clean your dvd lens and restart and check it

When you say it won?t read are you trying to play commercial DVD movies or read DVD data disks? If you're trying to play movies then you need a couple of things the first being some type of player program. Real player works as does Windows media player but usually DVD drives come with a striped down version of PowerDVD or WinDVD. If you in fact have a player installed and when a DVD is inserted in your drive it doesn't play it may not be configured to automatically play DVDs. Try opening your player program and trying to manually play your DVD. Let us know if you have any success or if you need more assisted.
