I am glad to HELP YOU!

I have to tell you that sometimes removing the CMOS battery doesn't solve the BIOS password resetting.
You have to take some other steps to succeed:
# power OFF
# remove the back cover of your machine [the DIMM cover only = Dual Inline Memory Module]
# put a jumper on the password jumper contacts to short the circuit [or short-circuit the password jumper pads]
# restart the machine and wait until the POST is done
# now the password should not appear again, so the security code was removed
# put back the the DIMM cover

YOU'RE DONE!

GOOD LUCK!

Where is reset button on my lenovo think pad w540

there is no reset button, ok>?
why not post symptoms first.
then ask for help.
or at least tell use what's wrong, first.
ok? (even the most small clue as to what's up doc)?

MY PCs have like 20 resets or more.
BIOS reset. 3 of them. user, admin and default.
windows login lost.? (Long store, ask)
bitlocker HDD reset, sorry doom here, no resets by DESIGN.
windows inside has many resets, endless this topic!

there are windows RELOADS, called recovery.
the PC has hot key to recovery windows back to day one.
or with media if HDD failed, and new OS is needed.

it came with w7 , w8 or w8.1
is it still there? at day one new OS
or did you upgrade the OS>
we can't know that and matters BIG TIME THAT fact.

My T61 shuts off after 15 secs of installing any OS. It shuts off even while changing BIOS Settings. Please help.

Have you tried a different power adapter? Is the fan working? I assume it is getting through the ram check? Also try with the battery out. Is it saving bios settings?

Can't reset access password. When I start the laptop I am getting a prompt for an access password. I have tried doing the password reset procedure of unplugging the laptop, taking out the battery,...

You method is used to remove the BIOS password, not Windows log on screen password.

You can create a Windows password reset bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive to reset forgotten Windows password, i have created a bootable USB flash drive with the tool Windows Password Breaker and reset my administrator password successfully. You can have a try.

Reset Supervisor paaword Thinkpad R61. And bios settings already locked

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper and I wouldn't recommend doing it especially if it's under warranty.

IBM R52 Laptop locked after removing and re-putting CMOS battery

This is an excerpt form the service manual for this exact model of notebooks:

If you forgot your power-on password, you must take your computer to a Lenovo authorized servicer or a marketing representative to have the password canceled. If you forgot your hard disk password, Lenovo authorized servicer can not reset your password or recover data from the hard disk. You must take your computer to a Lenovo authorized servicer or a marketing representative to have the hard disk drive replaced. Proof of purchase is required, and a fee will be charged for parts and service. If you forgot your supervisor password, Lenovo can not reset your password. You must take your computer to a Lenovo authorized servicer or a marketing representative to have the system board replaced. Proof of purchase is required, and a fee will be charged for parts and service.

Hope this will answer your question.

My ibm thinkpad r-52 is locked with bios password.how can i remove that .i dont know the password.plz help me [email protected]

Please note that Thinkpad stores the password in a special security chip which is accessed during boot time.

The only option I know to reset BIOS password in a Thinkpad is to disassemble the system and then use the steps mentioned in the following link

My lenovo ThinkPad T500 is losing power. Happens

Looks like I forgot to mention that this happens even when the power cable is connected. The power indicator lamps just turn off and everything is "dead".
