On the Acer Machines - The system restore is on a different partiion. Therefore you don't need a recovery disk. Go to your start menu;all programs;accssories;system tools; then click system resore. This should start the recovery.

Acer are cheap and they don't provide you with a factory restore disk. You need to make this factory disk yourself. I know how to do this, but it is to much for me to type and here is a really really good reference site for you to visit to get instruction to make your own factory restore disk. After making that restore disc, pop the disk into your laptop and turn of your laptop and restart and the factory restore program should start, if it should not start then go into your bios menu and have it boot from your Dvd-Rom and save, after full restoration, make sure you turn your boot priority back to where your Os is being installed, exm hard drive.
