Microwave ge. no jes1456ds1ww. error "pf". the report begins the time, heard-clicking the relay, the fan and plate turn does't work, does't heat.Which detail can i replace to resolve this problem? tnx.

That's likely a failed door switch, or the door switch mount is misaligned or broken.

See my door switch help file at
http://www.microwavecontrol.com/doorsw.txt or visit the home page and use Ctrl-F or Cmd-F to search for the words door switch without quotes.

Runs when door is closed, stops when open!Checked the three door switches;all good. The mw is 5 years old so anyone have suggestions as i would be thanking U in advance

It is possible that a relay on the control board has stuck in the closed position. You can try tapping the relays on the main control board and this sometimes breaks them free. It still may be one of the door switches but I would suspect the control board or possibly a stuck start pad on the touch panel.

Jvm1350 micro wave will not turn but timer does

follow this steps and fix it.God bless you

  1. Inspect the power cordUnplug the power cord and check for voltage at the outlet. Also inspect for damage, shorts, or burn marks that can be a possible safety hazard.
  2. Bad door switchIf your microwave does not work at all and you know everything is plugged in properly and the outlet is functioning, then also check the door hooks and the door release button. Using a volt-ohm meter on RX1, check your terminals. When your microwave door is closed you should have a reading of zero. Once the door is open the reading should change to infinity. If these readings do not match up, replacement of the door switch is necessary.
  3. Blown fusesTo determine if your fuse has blown out, which may attribute to your microwave not running, you need to pull the fuse out using a pair of fuse pullers. Lay it down and using a volt-ohm meter on RX1, check both ends of the fuse in question. If you do not get a reading of zero, then you will need to replace the fuse.
  4. Bad fan motorLocate the fan and remove the leads. Again using the volt-ohm meter on RX1, check the terminals. If an infinity reading is displayed, it means that the fan has gone bad and requires replacement.

I have a Magic Chef MCO160UQ over the range microwave. It started by tripping the braker. I would turn the breaker back up and it would work, after a week doing that, it stopped working. first, I...

Hello there and welcome to fixya
this has been a fairly common issue with these over the counter or stove microwave
The problem normaly stems from the power inverter that is shorting out causing the breakers to trip so what i would do is first take out the poower inverter and have it tested ok now keep in mind that you wil wnat some continuity but not a lot so if your reading is fairly high then replace the part here is some more stuff that will need to be tested ok
A defective relay can result in a variety of symptoms: * A relay with its contacts welded (stuck) closed would result in the oven coming on as soon as the door is closed or the power being stuck on high no matter what the touchpad setting. * A relay that doesn't close (due to defective contacts or a bad coil) would result in no heat and possibly other things like the fan and turntable not working as well. If the relay is totally inoperative, test for voltage to the coil. If the voltage is correct, the relay may have an open coil. If the voltage is low or zero, the coil may be shorted or the driving circuit may be defective. If the relay makes a normal switching sound but does not correctly control its output connections, the contacts may be corroded, dirty, worn, welded closed, binding, or there may be other mechanical problems. Remove the relay from the circuit (if possible) and measure the coil resistance. Compare your reading with the marked or specified value and/or compare with a known working relay of the same type. An open coil is obviously defective but sometimes the break is right at the terminal connections and can be repaired easily. If you can gain access by removing the cover, a visual examination will confirm this. If the resistance is too low, some of the windings are probably shorted. This will result in overheating as well as no or erratic operation. Replacement will be required. The resistance of closed contacts on a relay that is in good condition should be very low - probably below the measurable limits on a typical multimeter - a few milliohms. If you measure significant or erratic resistance for the closed contacts as the relay is switched or if very gentle tapping results in erratic resistance changes, the contacts are probably dirty, corroded, or worn. If you can get at the contacts, the use of contact cleaner first and a piece of paper pulled back and forth through the closed contacts may help. Superfine sandpaper may be used as a last resort but this is only a short term fix. The relay will most likely need to be replaced if as in this case the contacts are switching any substantial power.

Have a Panasonic Microwave NN-SA616W, when door is closed looks like touch pad works perfect, but when I open the door start to make a clicking sound and the light starts to function intermittently (like...

There are usually three interlock switches in the door mechanism. One is in the power circuit for the magnetron, one is in the relay drive circuit, and the third is a logic input to the controller. Many times the one in the relay drive circuit turns on the oven lamp when you open the door at the same time it disconnects the magnetron relay. If the lamp relay is stuttering irregularly, that door switch may be going bad.

Another possibility (if this happens only when you open the door while the oven is running) is that the magnetron power door switch is stuck in the on position. This is not a safe condition. Replace that door switch ASAP, and get in the habit of turning off the oven before opening the door.

My old GE oven (JSP38G052BG) won't bake or broil. It start then stop after 1 or 2 minutes. The heating elements get worm. Can you help me please

Hello ediben11.

If your oven's bake or the broiler heating elements won't heat but the range burners still work;the clock may be set for a timed or self-cleaning cycle. So,make sure to check the clock buttons and the knobs are set properly.
*If your clock has a knob that says "push for manual" then push the knob in after that, try the baking and broiling elements again.

*If it still does not work properly, you may have a defect in the thermostat/selector switch/common wiring.

*If the oven does not have a separate bake or broil selector switch; then the thermostat is probably the problem. It is not easy to check the selector switch or thermostat for proper operation. If you suspect a problem in this area, call a qualified appliance repair technician.

Hope this helps.

You have a faulty keypad. You could probably special order this part from a local appliance parts supply store for 50-60$ or purchase a new microwave.

POWER COMES ON WHEN PLUGGED IN

The orignal problem would have been a loose or misaligned door switch or holder on the lower door switch.

We have the service / repair manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

Page 37 shows the proper wiring and page 34 covers the switch adjustment.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

Instead of replacing the switch mount, it's usually more economical and safer to add a dab or two of hot glue to the mount to secure the switch. Let it cool for about 30 minutes before using.

I would recommend replace both the upper and lower switch now. You can order a universal type here for $5 each postpaid.

Microwave Door Switch Problem?

That model number has too many digits after the JVM. Could it be JVM1339BW02 or JVM1339BW002?

If one is bad, it's probably the bottom switch, whose wiring goes back to the power relay, thermostat, or fuse, depending on eact model.

The switch with thin wires going to a ltitle connector on the board is the door sense switch. That's not likely your culprit.

I usually recommend you replace them all while you're at it.

It sounds like it may actually be a loose or misaligned door or door switch mount.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and
disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

GE models have a very helpful "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel. Handy in troubleshooting.
