Question about Epson Stylus CX6400 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Loud Jamming noise

I just recently can not use my printer. It will scan or attempt to start to print, then suddenly make this loud jamming sound- almost grinding. then it stops completely and it tells me to contact support???  When I looked inside I noticed a lot of excess ink on the right/ left sides that seemed to be dried up and just gobbed up. I cleaned some of it up with no change.  Any ideas??? I am about to throw it out the window! Thanks jamiejantz@wowway.com

Clean up the Linear Scale - that's the thin strip behind the ink carrier, above the gold toothed belt.
I used Vodka as I had no access to industrial alcohol (I guess gin would work as well). This strip is very important, so be careful with it, but do persevere. My printer was condemned and is now working fine again.

My Dell 2135cn printer all the sudden started making crazy loud grinding noises. Then I got a paper jam. I fixed the paper jam and tried to print again, but got the loud grinding noises and paper jam...

Refer to the service manual in disassembling the device.. Clean it thoroughly then try it again.. If, you have no experience in doing so, hire a qualified tech to do so.

My HP Photosmart C4280 All in one is all of a sudden making a loud clicking sound when I print. It just started doing it when I printed the next page.

>an unusual noise in the printer could be problem with printing mechanism or a carriage is jammed, try this steps about carriage jam and see if this will resole the issue

Sharp AL1642 CS Copier Grinding noise and Paper Jams

Loud clacking sound, jamming in fuser ? sounds like the gear that turns the fuser are bad and not meshing together,
accordion jam is the fingers or claws that ride on the fuser roller are probably worn out ( these can be replaced usually 3-5 ).

You can buy the parts and replace them yourself if a handy person, not that difficult.

Loud ratchet noise

Have you been using ink cartridges other than store bought? Reason I'm asking is that i used a refill kit, and tried those half price refill places, only to find ink was leaking out when not in use & clogged up the ends where the cartridge moves across. take a flashlight & look at the ends of the track that the cartridges slide across on, you may see a build up of ink, that won't allow the cartridge to travel as far as it needs to go to run properly.

Jamming, roller lines and loud fan

You'll want to purchase the service manual for this printer if you do not already have one. Obviously the fan is the most annoying problem. But the jamming, the roller marks, and other issues would indicate that the entire printer is probably needing to be cleaned out and that the rollers may even need to be reconditioned or replaced.

Loud grinding noice before starting to print

Mine makes a grinding noise when scanning or making copies. As long as everything is working, I just tolerate the noise in which the rest of the staff find amusing at first and then ignore it as I do.
