Denon receiver not working surround output

If everything is connected correct, the only thing I can think of, is you don't put in a surround signal. If you only feed 2 way stereo, only two speaker will work. Also if you switch to stereo, the other channels will stop working. Check the cables, the settings and the input.

My receiver only plays front speakers. when i put it in surround mode none of the speakers will play and the sub even in stereo mode is barely a whisper of sound. i dont have a remote for it but it goes...

you don't need a remote. to me sounds like you might have a connection problem. try and do a test tone which will send a test signal to all the speakers. starts from left to right etc. if you cant hear all the speakers you need to check all connection wires etc. hope this helps

I'm having trouble with sound when i try and install a surround sound system. This is the second system I've had that my lg would not play sound

Firstly you must have the remote typically to set the speakers up or there is a combination of keys to do this but usually some functions cannot be changed without the remote.
Second, the surround sound playback can only be played if the sound that you are listening to has the surround sound track, otherwise you may not hear hardly anything when your device is set to the wrong function.

The speakers must also match the surround sound system otherwise you may not hear anything at all.
Remember: A 5.1 System is 5-speakers,   A 7.1 system is 7 speakers!

The speakers should be marked for which place they belong LF= Left,Front...etc.

Yamaha HTR-6030: all speaker have sound coming out but it is not true surround. The display only shows front speakers on, how do I get all speakers to come up on the display?

I think you mean the display only shows Front >>Channels<< available.

What source? Digital or analog (analog is only stereo).

Did it ever work properly? If not, let's get down to basics and set it up for the simplest configuration it can have: FM source in stereo with front left and right speakers, no Surround Mode, no DSP, no Tape Monitor, no Mute, Volume not turned all the way down. Does that work?

Do you have Surround Speakers defined in System Setup A? If not, only Dolby Surround or Off are valid Surround Modes.

Is T2 Monitor indicator lit? Press the Tape-2 Monitor.
Is there acceptable sound other than during Speaker testing? NO? Is MUTE On?

Is your DVD player hooked up to a surround sound receiver, or directly to your television?

Just hooked up Coax cable; now talking is barely audible

is the center speaker turned up in the reciever speaker settings? each speaker can be adjusted to a level that is higher or lower or all the same as the rest. also is the dolby digital turned on in the reciever settings? and changing the surround sound pre set sounds can also improve the type of audio you are listening to in 6.1 surround sound

Kenwood VR6070 speaker/amp problems

unit needs repair. Look at the b speakers. Conect a speaker or two to the B position. If you have no sound than your surrond sound is ok and the unit is bad. Sound comes directly into the b speaker and not threw the surrond system. My 6070 has a cold start up problem. no sound. time to purchase a new one. to costly to repair.

Cant Hear Dialogue Over the Background Sound

I had the same problem, first you can download the manual online to see how to reset the speakers. next, make sure you have true digital audio input with a fiber optic or like connector. you should see little LED symbols of r/l/c/w/rr/rl etc. If you just see R and L, it is not getting a true signal.

But what worked the best was getting a better, devoted, CENTER speaker, not just a speaker in the center, but one devoted to dialogue.

good luck
