Question about Washing Machines
My wife unlocked the Front loading washer the other day because it only had a minute or two left on the cycle and she wanted to put the clothes in the dryer. Nothing abnormal. The next morning, when she went to start a new load, she got F01 code. The door won't lock, nothing happens at all. I've read your forum and it's pretty frustrating to see the problems others have had too. The washer is Model 110.47532602, purchase April 2007.
I am VERY handy whether it be electrical or mechanical so anything you can tell me to fix this would be appreciated. I just can't believe a Sears repair guy has to fix this. I also can't believe my wife broke this by pushing the Stop button. Just doesn't make any sense.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

1. Remove the lower panel under the door by loosening the three screws
under the bottom edge on the front of the washer. HINT: If you prop up
the front feet of the washer with some small blocks of wood, this will
make access to the screws much easier.
2. With the screws removed, the lower panel should drop down then come off. If the panel sticks, a light tap on either side will knock it loose.
3. Reach your hand up inside the washer behind the front casing on the right-hand side. This is where the door latch assembly is located.
4. At the bottom of the door latch assembly is a small pull tab. This is the manual release for the door. Pull the tab straight down and the door will come open.
Sometimes these doors will not unlock for whatever reason. If there are no error codes being generated, this could have just been a momentary glitch. If you see "Fdl" or "Fdu" error codes, these are usually indications of a failed door latch assembly and will require replacement.

This worked for me. I turned off the washer and hit the area on the washer directly to the right of the door handle (not hard enough to break something or cause a dent). It popped right open.

make sure the water inlet valve to the machine where the hoses hook up is in good working order. if you don't get water in the machine will lock you out.
