Check if the adapter is disabled, go to network connections if your running XP or go to network and sharing center then click on manage network connections, the icon should indicate if its enabled or disabled. If you don't see any wireless connection icon there is a possibility that the drivers for your wireless adapter is not installed properly or it corrupted.

Hp touchsmart 300

From the User Guide at... http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4174137&

The wireless keyboard and mouse are pre-synchronized, for your convenience, to work with your

HP TouchSmart PC. The keyboard and mouse should work immediately after you pull the battery tabs to

activate the preinstalled batteries, and then turn on the mouse (A).

You may need to manually synchronize the wireless keyboard or mouse if they are not functioning.

To synchronize them:

Make sure the keyboard and mouse are next to the HP TouchSmart PC, within 30 cm (1 foot) and

away from interference from other devices.

Keyboard: Press the Connect button on the bottom of the keyboard (B) for five seconds. The blue

activity LED on the wireless receiver illuminates when the synchronization command has been received

and turns off when synchronization is complete.

Mouse: Press the Connect button on the bottom of the mouse (C) for five seconds. The blue activity

LED on the wireless receiver illuminates when the synchronization command has been received and

turns off when synchronization is complete.

If this does not work, remove and then re-insert the wireless keyboard and mouse receiver from the back of
the computer and then synchronize the keyboard and mouse again.

Sounds defective. Disconnect it, flip it over and give it a smell. If you smell burnt wires or plastic (typically a faint smell, but a smell nonetheless) the router's toast.

Hello. I have a linksys wireless wireless g access point with SES. I want to add another laptop to this connecction but have lost my wep key password. Pls help!

On the back of the router there's a very small reset button where you stick a paper clip or a small pen tip in.Insert it in there and hold for about 10 secs or until the green led lights starts to flash. Once you do this it will reset the routers password to default, which is: user id: admin, pwd: password.

You may have to reconfigure the other laptop again or recreate the wireless connection.

How do i turn on wireless

in the computer, In order to do this you may need to turn on XP's wireless zero configuration. found here in detail with photos: http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/2007.html
in the router, Most computers and wireless network adapters possess a light (LED) indicating whether its wireless radios are currently active. Using a menu option or key press combination. you can quickly toggle Wi-Fi on and off. Details vary depending on the type of computer; consult the manufacturer's documentation for more information. Look in your manual for your wireless router for the address to get into the settings and enable the wireless . Usually something like 192.168.254.254

Wireless is not working

Hi cpbosley! Let me help you with your issue.

Here's what you need to do:

Try Power Cycle!

STEP 1: Turn off your computer, Wireless Router, and your Modem (if you have one).

STEP 2: Unplug the power cord of those devices.

STEP 3: After unplugging the power cords, press and HOLD the power button of the devices for 5 - 10 seconds.

STEP 4: Turn on the modem first (if you have one) or the Router if you dont have the modem. And watch for the LED lights and check its behavior. If the LED lights are normal, turn on the computer.

STEP 5: Check for functionality by checking if the router is being detected by your computer or if you are connected to it, and then go to the internet to check if you now have the connection.

Thanks!
I know it will work. Be Positive!
Your good rating will be very much appreciated.

Good luck and thank you!
