Question about Garmin Rino 120 2-Way Radio

Menu send note missing

I 4 pcs Rino 120 that have different programs installed version 3.9 and 5.5
I get up its menu for Mark Waypont-Fin `N Go-Enable Keylock but Send Note missing on the two radios that have version 3.9
It works quite nicely for those who are running version 5.5
I have tried and install 5.5 on those with a 3.9 but it is not possible
I have run web Update but it changes nothing.
So now, I hope you have a good explanation of this issue and have a solution that allows me to send messages with them?

I can not updated it from 3.9 to 5.5 this is not possible!
The only one I have the opportunity to have been and install v3.9 again, but I have tried, it is not helpful.

  • jorgen1920 Aug 09, 2008

The advice I have received have not helped me.
Send note should also work in v3.9
All four are completely new and makes it softver version 3.5 for those I do not get the menu send note
Should it be possible, and upgrade from v3.9 to 5.5?

Dear Sir/Madam,

When you send a note, it appears along the bottom of the display on every Rino 120 user who is using the same Channel and Squelch Code that you are using.

Make sure other radios are on the same channel and Squelch Code

Thanks
good luck

When you do updates it might have taken off the message option. it is just like a computer when you upgrade it will take off old programs and install the new ones... so you might check into that...

This sounds like the new firmware version may not work on the
older model.

Master reset xerox 8560 printer

Your Administrator Guide book should have these instructions listed for you. It should be on the CD's that came with the printer.

If you have lost/misplaced them, you can download the guides from the Xerox.com website.
The steps below are what I did from my laptop as a Repair Technician:
1. Connect a crossover cable between the PC and system. To print an Event Log or Runtime Log:
2. Verify the system is Ready.
3. Use the system's control panel to enable AutoIP:
a. Select the system Setup menu.
b. Select the Connection Setup menu.
c. Select the Network Setup menu. 5. The page should now print.
d. Select the TCP/IP Setup menu.
e. Set AutoIP to On.
f. Exit the menu so the system is Ready.
4.
NOTE: To print the Connection Setup or Configuration page, select the system Setup
menu.
Reset the system to cause AutoIP to assign a new IP address (cycle power or select
Restart system from the Shutdown menu).
5. After the system's IP address is set, test communication by sending the "PING" com-
mand.
6. If the test fails, install a different cable and retest.

I want ti install JDK version 1.5

1.Remove the previous version of Java installed on your computer by selecting "Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs" from your computer's Start menu. Then, choose the Java program in the program listing and select the remove icon.

2. Uninstall Quicktime from the Add/Remove Programs menu after Java is uninstalled. In past versions of Quicktime, it has been known to interfere with new Java JDK installations.

3.Download JDK 1.5 from the link listed in the Resources section of this article.

4.Choose the installer program after download is complete and choose the default menu options displayed by the installer to install the JDK to your computer. Restart your computer after installation is complete and you will have JDK 1.5 installed on your computer.

Screen goes blank except a thin line

There is a firmware upgrade from Garmin that appears to address this problem for units still running Version 3.2 or earlier. If your problem only occurs when WAAS is enabled, you might try upgrading. To find what firmware version you have, from the main menu: Setup, System, then select the (options) icon on the top row, to the left of the 'X'.

RINO 120 :: screen blanks out with just a single horizontal line

Had to wait 24 hours to be able to post my own answer

By reading a number of forums, I've found that there was a WAAS satelitte update (bug), that causes this foul up.
The only solution I've been able to arrive at is DISABLE the WAAS feature, as no Garmin Update/patch (for Rino120) has been made available.
To shutoff the WAAS feature press your [Page] button until you arrive at the "Main Menu"
go down until your on the "Setup"(hammer)
go in (by pressing in, on the directional button)
go down until your on the "System"(gears)
go in (by pressing in, on the directional button)
go down until your on WAAS, go in and select the Disabled
go up to the "X" (top right) press it, then you can [Page] button anywhere you want from there.

----------
Wonder what WAAS is?

Take care.

PS- Garmin if you read this....I would like to have my WAAS back, and since I registered for updates, back in 2005, why didn't I get an email from you telling me about this issue (when it happened and provide a solution - at the same time :: even a work around as I've posted here)
