You will need to open the box of your computer, assuming it is a desktop. The ram or memory is usually located near the power supply below it. They are small boards slot into a slot and has two pegs either side to hold it in place. Before you go out and by new ram you will need to make sure it is compatible to your motherboard. The best way to do this is to take a stick along with you so you can purchase the correct type. Once you know the correct type, you will need to know whether it will run on your system and how much memory your motherboard will run on. Most retailers or computer tech should be able to let you know as long as you know what type of computer you have. If it is a brand name it's easier. Like for instance Acer, Dell or Samsung and also if it's a pentium 3 or 4.

Esonic mother board ram problem. i was changed ram but still beeping. psu changed but still beeping. what i should?

Make sure that you are inserting the correct type of ram - many mo bo's are very sensitive to what you throw in there and will not work with just any ram. Put in the exact stuff called for by the manufacturer.
And are you sure it is a ram problem? There are beeps for other hassles other than ram. Check that out.

Toshiba T2300 one beep. what does it signify ?

Hi Friends,
If one sort beep then you pc safe not any problem. Because RAM active mode coming show. But if one long beep then RAM damage and change ram, but some conduction occurs like dust, loose connect etc. So you check it first RAM slots. if possible change RAM Slots (connect another port).

Thanks..

CANNOT INSTALL WINDOWS XP AS IT SHUT DOWNS WHILE LOADING SETUP FILES AND SHOWS A BLUE SCREEN.

Hi deepakbandi2,

This could be as a result of a bad RAM chip or bad hard disk , due to bad sectors in it,

Please follow the below steps :-

  1. Make sure that you connect your RAM properly in the slot , if required remove the ram , clean it and change the slot where the RAM is fixed , for instance , if you had RAM fitted in slot one , change it to slot 2 , sometimes this could work fine.
  2. Try to do a full format of the partition that you select so that the files are copied properly, if this does not work try to install the operating systems on a different partition than you usually use, for e.g. if you were used to install the OS in drive c , try installing it on drive D , and make sure you have C and D drive formatted properly.
  3. If the above methods don't work , then try changing the RAM with one of your friends and check if everything works fine after RAM change , if it does , your probably need to buy a new RAM.
Hope this helps...:)

Hardware malfunction call your hardware vendor for support NMI : Parity check / memory parity error the system has halted

Try the RAM modules one at a time in each slot. If issue is isolated to 1 module, replace the RAM module. If isolated to 1 slot, replace the Motherboard. If RAM changes make no difference, change motherboard

Beeping on start up

Your motherboard has 64Mb built-in RAM and the video card needs some video RAM and has grabbed 8Mb of RAM which leaves the system with 56Mb of RAM. When you insert a 64Mb RAM module you have a total of 128Mb of which the video has grabbed 8Mb which leaves the system with 120Mb.
You can't change stop the video card from grabbing 8Mb of RAM, the RAM is essential for the video to work.
You can upgrade the RAM by removing the 64Mb RAM module and insert a 128Mb or 256Mb RAM module. You may even be able to insert a 512Mb RAM module if the motherboard will accept it, you need to check the specification of your laptop to see the maximum amount of RAM the laptop can handle.

I put in a 512MB PC-133 memory stick and all my pc does is beep 3 times when I turn it on

1). Changed ram is of high frequency so its not supporting ur motherboard, change the ram and see to its frequency (eg. pc100, pc133)
2). Or you might have wrongly attached the ram to motherboard, so ram slot might have burnt.

Monitor won't come on after changing ram.

Make sure that the new RAM is fully seated into the slot. The snap clips on the side will automatically lock in when the ram is fully inserted.
