Water dispenser is releasing water sporadically. I took filter out thinking it was clogged, but water is still coming out in interrupted jets. and there is noise from the bottom of the fridge. The noise is a click that corresponds to each jet of water that comes out. Is this a clogged valve or something else? Is it an easy fix?

I have a Whirlpool 25 SSA model EOFHGX NQ00 side by side refrigerator and the water maker has not worked for a while?

If the water maker on your Whirlpool side by side refrigerator has not been working for a while, there could be several reasons for this. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:
  1. Check the water supply: Make sure that the water supply to the refrigerator is turned on and that there are no kinks in the water supply line.
  2. Check the water filter: The water filter may be clogged or expired. Replace the water filter and see if this resolves the issue.
  3. Check the water inlet valve: The water inlet valve may be faulty or clogged. You can test the water inlet valve using a multimeter. If it is faulty, it will need to be replaced.
  4. Check the water dispenser switch: If the water dispenser switch is faulty, it may not be sending the signal to the water inlet valve to release water. You can test the switch using a multimeter.
  5. Check the water dispenser tubing: The water dispenser tubing may be frozen or clogged. Try defrosting the refrigerator and see if this resolves the issue.
If none of these troubleshooting steps work, you may need to contact a qualified technician to diagnose and fix the issue.

Soap dispenser is still full after 4 trys. I ran the washer with the dispenser out and it seems that the water is not coming out of the jets above the soap dispenser, only the bleach dispenser?

Did you try cleaning up the water filters where the water hoses connect to the washer in the back? I had mine clogged with sediment one time and water was not coming out properly.

Icemaker not working

It is possible you have a speck of dirt in the ice maker water line, there is a very small jet that the water comes thru with a filter in it. I would remove and using an air tank blow out the lines in reverse to clear, also check the water filter for clogs.

No water coming out of the dispenser

Hello there and welcome to fixya
Dispenser Does Not Operate
  • 1 Ensure that the water supply line is installed according to the manufacturer's directions. Turn the water supply shutoff valve counter-clockwise to fully open it.
  • 2 Replace the water filter or remove the filter and install the plug. A clogged filter will prevent the water dispenser from functioning properly.
  • 3 Place a large container under the water dispenser. Press and hold the dispenser lever for at least two minutes to remove air in the water system.
Does Not Dispense Water
  • 1 Inspect the supply line and shutoff valve for clogs. Call a plumber to remove clogs in the line or shutoff valve.
  • 2 Replace the water filter cartridge or remove the filter and install the plug.
  • 3 Ensure that the filter cartridge is installed properly. Remove it and reinstall the filter cartridge. The cartridge will lock into place when installed correctly.

Bought a new Maytag side by side. Will not put out water. Tried the 5 sec on and 5sec off to flush the air out, still didn't work. What next?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
First off you need to make sure the freezer door is CLOSED and water filter is properly installed in the filter housing. Without a model number I can not tell you the exact location of the filter. There is a water lock out function of the water filter housing that will prevent proper water flow until the filter is installed correctly or removed completely. Also... there is a water tank / reservoir that has to be filled completely with water before you will see any water at the spigot. Please pass your model number so I can better assist you or call the Maytag Sercive Center so they can walk you through the initial set up procedure of your refrigerator. (They will also need your model number) Go to http://www.maytag.com and register your appliance before making the call.

Before making the call check out this information about troubleshooting:
http://maytag.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/110/kw/Water/session/L3RpbWUvMTI5ODY4MTEyNi9zaWQvam9CYWV5bms%3D

- After connecting the refrigerator to water source or replacing the water filter, flush the water system. Use a sturdy container to depress and hold the water dispenser lever for 5 seconds, then release it for 5 seconds. Repeat until water begins to flow. Once water begins to flow, continue to press and release the dispenser bar (5 seconds on, 5 seconds off) until a total of 3 gal. (12 L) has been dispensed. This will flush air from the filter and water dispensing system, and prepare the water filter for use. Additional flushing may be required in some households. As air is cleared from the system water may spurt out of the dispenser.
- Make sure the dispenser is not locked. Some models have a lock feature that deactivates the dispenser levers and control buttons. The lock button is on the dispenser front cover. This feature controls unintentional dispensing during cleaning. Press the Unlock or Locked button to reactivate the dispenser levers and allow dispenser function. You may need to hold the button for 2 to 3 seconds.
- If there has been a recent power outage or the power supply has been off for more than one hour, the power outage indicator (on some models) will disable the dispenser function. The dispenser display will read "PF" to indicate power failure. To use the dispenser, press and hold the "Reset" button for 3 seconds until you hear the beeps.

-A clogged or incorrectly installed water filter will reduce the water flow to the water dispenser. Check for a problem with the filter by removing the filter and operating the dispenser. If water begins to flow, then the filter is either clogged or incorrectly installed. A clogged filter will need to be replaced.

If the filter is clogged and you are not able to immediately replace it, leave the filter out so the water system is in bypass mode. With the filter removed, the water system will continue to operate, bypassing the filter, and the clogged filter will not cause slow water dispensing. However, in order to have filtered water, you will need to install a new filter.
All Genuine Maytag Water Filters retain beneficial fluoride and are NSF Certified for drastically reducing chlorine taste and odor, particulates, lead, mercury and cysts.

To ensure glass after glass of clean, refreshing ice and water, change your filter yearly or whenever the system light indicates.

The information above should get your water working. If not please listen for a solenoid buzz as you actuate the water in door function. No buzz either the dispenser is locked off or.... you have a valid warranty claim.

Whirpool Gold 21 Cu. Ft. Side by Side. Water dispenser will not dispense water. I hear the solenoid click. I think the line in must be frozen some where.

Do the following: Flush the water system. Use a sturdy container to depress and hold the water dispenser lever for 5 seconds, then release it for 5 seconds. Repeat until water begins to flow. Once water begins to flow, continue depressing and releasing the dispenser lever (5 seconds on, 5 seconds off) until a total of 3 gal. (12 L) has been dispensed. This will flush air from the filter and water dispensing system, and prepare the water filter for use.
Ensure that the freezer door is closed completely? Close the door firmly.
Ensure that the water shutoff valve is fully open.
Ensure that the water pressure is at least 30 psi (207 kPa)? The water pressure to the home determines the flow from the dispenser.
Check for any kinks in the home water source line? Straighten the water source line.
Check the water filter. The filter may be clogged or incorrectly installed.
if still there is problem of water flow then please take assistance of a technician to check the plumbing.
If the fridge is new and in the warranty period get in touch with the service center and ask for free service.

Want to know when and how to replace water filter on a ge side by side refrig

Hello,

The water filter status light or indicator, present on some models, will help you know when to change your water filter. The light, or indicator, is located either on the temperature control panel in the refrigerator compartment or on the dispenser control panel on the freezer door.

The indicator will be one of two styles.

If the indicator is a light or series of lights, the light will change from green to yellow. This tells you that it is almost time to change the filter. It is recommended that you replace the filter when the status light changes to red or when water flow to your water dispenser or ice maker noticeably decreases.
If the indicator resembles a stack of bars, the bar height will decrease and the status display will change from "Good" to "Order." This tells you that it is almost time to change the filter. Replace the water filter cartridge when the water filter status display changes to "Replace" or when water flow to your water dispenser or ice maker noticeably decreases.
If a filter status light/indicator is not present, the filter should be changed at least once every 6 months. Your filter may need to be replaced more frequently depending on your usage and water quality.

If the water flow to the water dispenser or ice maker noticeably decreases before 6 months have passed, you may need to replace the water filter cartridge more often. Decreased water flow is a sign that the filter is clogged and needs to be replaced.

If the filter is clogged and you are not able to immediately replace it, remove the filter so the water system is in bypass mode. With the filter removed, the water system will continue to operate, bypassing the filter, and the clogged filter will not cause slow water dispensing or low ice production. However, in order to have filtered water, you will need to install a new filter.

The filter status display will help you know when to change your
water filter. When the display reads 10%, order a new filter. It is
recommended that you replace the filter when the display reads 10% OR when water flow to your water dispenser or ice maker decreases.

The filter should be replaced at least every 6 months depending on your water quality and usage.

Step 2
Press the eject button to release the filter from the base grille.

Step 3
Pull the filter straight out.

Step 4

Turn the cap counterclockwise to remove it from the filter. IMPORTANT: Do not discard the cap. It is part of your refrigerator. Keep the cap to use with the replacement filter.

Step 5
Align the ridge on the cap with the arrow on the new filter and
turn the cap until it snaps into place.

Step 6
Remove the protective covers from the O-rings. Be sure the O-rings are still in place after the covers are removed.

Step 7
Push the filter into the base grille. The eject button will pop back out when the filter is fully engaged.

Step 8
Flush the water system. Use a sturdy cup or glass. Depress and hold the
water dispenser lever for 5 seconds, then release it for 5 seconds. Repeat this process until water begins to flow. Once water begins to flow, continue depressing and releasing the dispenser lever. Hold down for 5 seconds and then release for 5 seconds. Do this on/off process for about 2 minutes. This will flush air from the filter and water dispensing

Hope this helpout in changing the water filter......

Water Dispenser

GodofHops: The motor that you hear on the refrigerator is the water pump that carries the water to your dispenser. If no water is coming from the dispenser. You have to check 3 things: 1. If there's any water. 2. Water filter clogged. 3. Water line for dispenser clogged with minerales carried on water flow. SithPitt
