SOURCE: cd player says to check

When the cd player comes with such an error message it is due to the decoder board being bad. The decoder board is usually a component which is attached to the lens of the unit. When this becomes faulty it affects the ability of the lens to work properly. The decoder board is what is responsible for decoding the message which is read off the disc by the lens and converting to sound and videos.
Try unplugging the unit for 5 mins upon replugging if the message still comes up then you would need an expert to check it out.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

I have a Rowe AMI 100 CD jukebox. It plays about 3 song and then right upper speaker goes out. Is this a speaker problem or something else?

You could have connector problems on the speaker crossover network located inside the amplifier compartment on the opposite wall from the amplifier. Typically the solder joints go bad where the connectors are soldered to the board. Usually a simple resoldering can fix it. There could also be problems with the connectors at that particular speaker itself.

I have a Nostalgic Bubbler Rock- Ola CD Jukebox that the sound keeps going on and off

Hello rudy691,

Check out the the phono connections from the Decoder through to the amplifier to make sure all the connections are seated correctly.

The Decoder boards were subject to dry joints around the phono sockets and power regulators on the board. Check out for any cracking around these soldered joints.

I would also look for dry joints (called cold joints in the USA) on the connections on the amplifier.

BC340RS want to listen to digital police frequencie. I work for Lewiston fire department in Maine. We are on 153.950 believe we are analog the scanner picks that up fine Lewiston PD is digital 158.790...

This usually means a software package that is capable of decoding digital.

Most bearcats are pretty good in the digital area.

It some cases it may even mean a slight modification to the scanner.

You should be aware however that scanner use in the US has quite strict legislation which in some states may prohibit the decoding of such signals so please check first.

A good source of information are the two sites below

Frequencies

Scanner software

These may also help you find out if it legal or not in your state

`Sony CD player won't play burned discs

Many of the older Car CD Players will not play CD-R's or they may with static sounds behind the music. What you need to do is try using a different brand of cd-r disc. If this doesn't work then it means that you may need to replace the CD player because the model that you have may not be decoded in order to play CD-R, CD-RW, play MP3's or anything of that such.
Get back to me if this doesn't work I'll help you square it away.
