Getting an electrical shock from the outside of my Kitchen Aid power stand up mixer. No visible break in cord.

But!!!! there could be a break in the grounding wire inside the back of the mixer motor head, it is easy to check. face the rear of the mixer and look at the top you will see a small screw, remove it and gently lift the rear cover up and out muck more up than out (you could break off the mounting ears on the bottom of the rear cover) then look at the plug wires, white and black wires should be attached by clips to speed control switch the green grounding wire should be attached to the mixer frame with a screw, if it has come off then put it back on, the screw should have fallen out when the rear cover was taken off if the screw has come out, it may just be loose also so use a phillips head screw to tighten down. please let us know if this helped or you need more help there may be a more serious electrical problem that needs to be dealt with.

The slider on the right side of my mixerthat locks down the mixer head will not slide all the way over, thus I cannot lock down the mixer head, it keeps popping up as I use the mixer.

Get a copy of the Repair Part List for your model at Kitchenaid.com.
About one inch to the lower right of the Latch Lever (17) is the
Latch Bearing Screw (15). Use a small flat head screwdriver and
tighten that screw. Just don't tighten too much or the Latch (10)
won't be able to move up and down as intended.

EHM80 - 200watt mixer. Need to get inside mixer (no screws seen)

I don't know that mixer , sometimes a screw is hidden under the start button, see if it can be prised out without damage to the switch.

The top part of the mixer has about 1/2 inch play and must be lifted in order to put in lock position

It sounds like the bar that the head hinges on has come out. It is located on the base and should be flush with the side of the mixer on both sides. Just knock it back into position and then turn the mixer over to tighten the screw that holds the hinge pin in place. It might also be that you need to adjust the height of the head by turning the adjustment screw on the hinge. Lift the head and the adjustment screw should be visible.

A-200 mixer brush carrier orientation.

Hi. I can't help you with your first question...But I can help with your brushes problem. Unplug the mixer With the two inspection plates removed at the commutator end loosen the two screws of the brush holder which are above and below the motor bearing cover, they're the only larger screws now visible. Note the markings on the brush holder on the bottom right side where you removed the inspection plate. Rotate the brush holder to the other mark. Set the brush holder screws. Plug in the power. and start the motor. It should now be turning in the proper direction, if not, make small adjustments by loosening the set screws, and moving the brushes until it starts to your satisfaction. Be sure that the set screws are tightened when you're done. If you need further assistance, post a clarification.

I have the same spec. mixer as you do.

If this solution has assisted you, please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45

Taking the top off my kitchenaid mixer

Remove the back housing by removing one screw and liftingand pulling rearward.
Remove two screws holding the metalic edge trim. This uncovers the seam. Screws are on the back.
Remove four visible screws from the bottom of the head around and near the pillar.
Now gently using a screw driver, push the metallic ring on the mixing head down and off.
This uncovers five more screws about the mixing head. Remove them.
Using a very small screw driver or punch, puch the pin out of the mixing head shaft.
Remove the mixing head housing.
Lift up on the motor housing to remove it.
The motor/gear housing is the top protion of the mixer. Its loaded with grease so do this over a covered countertop or some place easy to clean. The grease won't run, but it can fall out in gobs.
Make sure all sealing surfaces are clean, especially the gasket around the gears. This will insure a good seal. No gear grease in your famous cookies!
Reinstall in reverse.

Broken Cord

Sometimes there are hidden areas under the products name plates where they need to be gently pryed off and other times usually in the least exspensive types they are just snap fitted together and you will need to gently pry apart at the seams!!

Mixer doesn't run

you can take it apart by removing the pin which is in the shaft that does NOT hold the attachments....... i got mine out with a nail set and a gentle tap or two with a hammer. after you remove that pin the portion that holds the attachments will slide down revealing three more screws and some gearing. if you remove those three screws....... the top will come apart (assuming you have removed the other four screws which are visible when the unit is assembled) and you will see the circuit board.
