Question about Televison & Video
The LG USB Booster (Hitachi-LG) software is poorly implemented and is easily upset if it finds any conflicting USB devices when it scans for the drive you want to use the booster for.
Unplug all USB storage media except the drive that is intended for use with the USB booster software, then install (ignore the error mentioned earlier in this thread if it appears - it appears to be a problem with the updater.exe program) Next, run the "BoosterProgram.exe" which should be located in the "C:\Program Files/LG USB Booster" folder.
All being well you should now have the option to enable the USB Booster feature.

I got the error message "Copy file failed" too. As suggested, I started the program "LG USB Booster program" from the start menu. At first it was all greyed out and I couldn't select "On", but after unplugging the USB connector and plugging it in again, the buttons were enabled in the booster program. So I could select booster "On" and click "Execute". I don't know yet what difference it makes..

I found the solution to be a combination of Solutions # 1&2. After unplugging my external driives, I was able to install the software, even though it gave me the same "Failed to Copy" Error. Upun executing the software in the folder, all options 'wer' greyed out. I unplugged the drive and plugged it back in and bam, options were there. Set to Yes, hit Execute and that was that.
I can't find and DVD-/+R's that are rated higher than 18x, but can verify that my burner runs at 18x with the discs I have.

Ok, first off, you are right. LG = Life not good. Their software CD is not the most user friendly, and the fact that the drive manual is the most general thing ever is quite hilarious.
here's how to fix the problem.
Install ALL the software provided on the CD. THEN go back and click USB Booster, for me, it still errors. BUT. Go to start -> all programs -> (you will see LG BOOSTER PROGRAM) -> click Booster program and there you go. For me, (at the moment) i am still unable to select if i want the usb booster on or off. but for some of you, it might work.

Just use nero, with lg's burning software i reach up to 5x or 6x, dont remember exactly, but nero lets you burn faster without using the booster program.
