I want to scan to pdf on the hp 7310 all in one but it only scans to a file (jpg). How can I scan to pdf?

w10 has this built in
so what PC is this what OS?
HP now owns samsung printers .
there are only 4 ways,
use w10 print engine way,
use HP way if offered, ask them yet?
or scan to JPG
and use and app to publish jpg to PDF, I use NITRO.
or buy PDF engine driver, to do that.

If you are asking about the "SCAN TO PDF" button, it allows the scanner to create a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. PDF files are files that can be viewed with the free Adobe Reader software. The PDF format files are easy to store on your computer and easy to share. PDF files can have many pages. Image files, like JPG, can only hold one page per file.

If you use PDF files, make sure you only get the reader software from Adobe.com.

The HP SCANNER SPECS say: Scan file format Bitmap (.bmp), JPEG (.jpg), PNG (.png), TIFF (.tif), PDF (.pdf), Searchable PDF (.pdf), Text (.txt), Rich Text (.rtf).

That means it is supported. What you can try is to try and uninstall ("Programs and Features in Windows) the Adobe PDF program and get the free one to install again from: http://www.adobe.com/products/reader.html

If it still doesn't work (links itself into Windows and the HP software), try reinstalling the HP software or go to HP.COM and you can download the latest full-version file for your 4625 printer.

You have to convert the jpg image file to a text file then you can create (print) this file as a PDF file.

To do this will take a few steps.

1. You need to install a PDF printer driver on your computerfirst. There are quite a few freeware PDF writer programs on the Internet youcan download one such as CutePDF.

2. Scan the first page then click on File - Save the image as a jpg file Eg. image1.jpg

7. Save the Word document (not necessary).

8. Click on File - Print then select CutePDF printer (or your PDF printer driver) and save the PDF file. This PDF file will contain the multiple pages of the scanned pages.

Your 5 pages are scanned into 5 jpeg files, which are files saved as pictures - each scan is really a type of picture. You can change these into PDF files by importing them into a file translator program like Adobe Acrobat or MS Word. There are many freeware programs available on the Internet; OpenOffice by Oracle is an excellent free suite of programs that are completely interchangeable with MS Word files. Your solution is not complicated, though. Just save your .jpeg files in a PDF format when you get your HP scans and accept the view - the way the scan appeared as your HP printer program finished its work.

I am unclear on your problem but in general..you use the scanning software that came with the scanner scan the document and save the scanned file to your computer as a pdf file for documents or tiff or jpg for photos, (you set the type of file you want to save with the software options)
To print afterwards open the pdf with acrobat and print it

When you scan from HP Solution Center in Windows, the PDF file type is not available.

In most cases, you want to scan to file and save the file in a folder of your choice. I have a 7310 xi all in one and I have a folder on my desktop named scans. When I scan a pic or document I save it as a jpg (pic) file or a PDF (document) file to that folder. Then when I email someone, I attach the file using the attach button on the email page.

If you haven't done so, install the cd that comes with the HP Officejet package. Once correctly install, you should go to "All Programs" and locate "HP Solution Center" Click on HP Solution Center, click "Settings", click "Scan settings and preferences", choose either "scan document" or "scan picture" If word document then under File type: locate "PDF(*.pdf) If document is a picture then under File type: locate "JPEG image(*.jpg), click ok. Step 2 Choose between Scan Picture or Scan Document, click accept Step 3 your file is locate under "My scan" Hope that helps
