The FixYa GuessYa is that you want to program the extensions on the spare buttons on each phone. The 12 left side buttons will let you do that, the 12 buttons on the right are pretty much worthless, but this is a 77xx series phone, right?
To program extensions on the left side, label the strip, then press PROGRAM the button and dial 1 + extension and STORE. Keep doing that until you run out of buttons. If you slip and accidently reassign a line button, those are programmed with 0 + line number (1-8 in a TA series) STORE.
Pick up the handset and drop it back down when you're finished to exit programming. In a TA-824, there's a programming tool that let's you do this from a computer and copy buttons, but most of the time it's a lot easier to just do it by hand.

Oh, one more important thing. Read the buttons before you start programming over the top of them. That keeps silly things like VM-Transfer and CID-functions intact.
the rating that was given to me when I warned you that it was a guess as to what you were trying to do did not make me happy at all.
So, why not erase the rating and tell me WTF you *ARE* trying to do. Trust me, I can program your phone in less than 2 minutes with the instructions given above since you only have about 9 usable buttons. I have 6 phones on 3 different systems within 6 feet of my workstation. Two of the systems are Panasonic and 2 of the phones are 77xx type. That means the guess is based on the fact that I have installed Panasonic products since 1984. If you make an effort to actually look at the system the phone plug into, I can get you a user manual that describes all the programming of phones, but not with a 1 star rating.
