This can happen if you attempt to write or format a high capacity card (SDHC) in a SD card reader / writer.
You might be able to undo this if you insert the card in a SDHC card reader / writer. You may or may not be able to retrieve the data on the card however.
Sometimes, removing a card or USB drive while data is still being written to the card can cause this too. Again, the data may no longer be accessible - and the full capacity may no longer be available on the device.
Probably, especially if your card is a 4GB or larger SDHC card, then it's definitely the wrong card. The older Digimax S800 camera can only use standard SD cards (2GB or less). Fortunately, these are very inexpensive these days, and may be found on Amazon if your local store no longer carries them. For others reading this experiencing similar problems, please see this article.
Put the SanDisk into your SideKick phone, and navigate through the menu-items to "format" the device, i.e., delete all pictures, and return to "factory-shipped" condition. Then, put it into your B.B., and repeat the "format" process, to be 100% "factory-setttings".
Hi, You have not specified which printer you are using. 1. In a serial printer having a displaceable printing head and being
selectively operative in a setting mode for setting a variable
character pitch and in a normal mode for effecting a printing operation
according to the set character pitch: a plurality of manually operable
switches each having assigned thereto a normal function which is
performed when the switch is operated when the printer is in the normal
mode and having assigned thereto a setting function which is performed
when the switch is operated when the printer is in the setting mode, at
least one of the switches having a setting function which effects
selective displacement of the printing head to one of a plurality of
predetermined positions each corresponding to a different character
pitch; means for producing character pitch data effective to specify a
desired character pitch according to the selected position to which the
printing head is selectively displaced; and storage means operative
when the printer is in the setting mode for setting therein the desired
character pitch data for use during a printing operation of the printer
in the normal mode.
2. A serial
printer according to claim 1; including controlling means for
controlling the serial printer to effect changeover between the normal
mode and setting mode.
3. A serial printer according to claim 2; wherein one of the switches
has a setting function which enables the controlling means to set the
4. A serial printer according to claim 3; wherein two of the switches
have setting functions which effect selective displacement of the
printing head in opposite directions.
5. A serial printer according to claim 3; wherein one of the switches
has a setting function which enables the storage means to set therein
the desired character pitch data.
If your mom's computer has a card reader you should have no problems reading it, the format is universal. If that computer can't read it too, then the card is shot. you can try some file recovery software if it displays as a device in 'my computer'
