Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

My Panasonic digital Lumix camera DMC-FS62 screen says "this memory card is locked" how do I unlock it?

Hello there,
You have to take off the memory card and inspect the sides and look for a small switch. You have to move it the other way around to disable the write-protect setting.
Good luck!

I turn my dmc-fh27 camera and the lens won't come out. it is trying to move but it will not budge and the screen says "System Error (Zoom)".

Warning: This is only a last resort if you no longer have a warranty.

I used a variety of different methods, but here's what worked for my camera. Apparently the lens was just off the track.

1. Turn on the camera, and smack the back against the palm of your hand to get the lens to come out.
2.Hold the lens out until the "error screen" comes up.
3. Take the camera with the lens facing towards you, and use your thumbs to push on the lens.
4. Push firmly until the lens "clicks".
5. Turn off camera, then on again.
6. Hopefully cry tears of joy that you fixed it.

I'm trying to take photo's but on the screen it say "Write Protect" with symbol of key below. Can't take photo's> Help!

Hi

I think that it means your camera is locked.
It could also be your SDHD card which is locked.
You could try going to your settings and searching for "protect images".

What camera are you using?

Why does it say "Write

It means that the SD card in your camera in on write protect mode and you will not be able to save any new pictures in it. Take our the SD card and there is notch on the side, slide it to deactivate the write protect mode.

Hope this helps.

My stereo won't work. Whenever I try to turn it on, it always turns off saying "protect." How can I fix this?

The protect has come on because it senses an output load problem, Turn the unit off, unhook the speakers and wires from the stereo, now turn the unit on and turn the volume down as far as it will go, this should reset the processor ic, if the word protect stays off you have a short in the wiring or bad speaker. If the protect comes back on with everything unhooked the problem is in the audio output ic pack in the stereo and will require a technician to remedy.

What is the "card locked" ? when the camera comes

Your memory card is an SD type. These cards have a little switch on the card that can write protect or "lock" it. Take the card out of the camera and check this switch. To unlock it, it should be moved towards the edge of the card which has the electrical contacts.

When my camera is turned on, "write protect" comes on the screen, so I cannot take pictures. How do I get rid of "write Protect?"

You didn't specify the make and model of your camera, so I'm going to assume it uses SD and/or SDHC cards.

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Every time I turn on my camera a message appears on the screen that says "write protect". What is "write protect" and how do I get rid of the message?

1) It could be your camera has write protect switched on. Go through your camera's menu and look for picture protect and remove it.

2) Your SD card could be write protected. Take out the SD card and check, there's probably a sliding notch on the left hand side, move the to write enable.
