Well you need to boot your system from the CDs, You need to change your Boot device priority from BIOS which you can access from F1 and than once you will restart your system you will get a message which will say "Press any key to boot from the Cd/DVD" and the moment you see this message you can press any key to boot your system from cd and then it will start the recovery process.

I you restore your laptop to factory settings, all data and software installed would be lost. i f you are fine with that or u have backed up the data already, follow the below process:
I have assumed that you have windows vista or windows 7:
Power off the laptop. Remove any peripheral devices such as speakers, printers or flash drives that are not necessary to this operation. Power on the laptop while holding down the "F8" key until the advanced boot options menu appears.
Move the arrow key to "Repair Your Computer." Hit the "Enter" key.
Select the language settings to be used for the recovery process with the arrow keys and hit "Next." Log in, if necessary. Press "Next."
Choose "Dell Factory Image Restore" OR "Complete PC restore" to restore the drive's original factory settings, and click on "Next."
Check the box next to the "Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition" option. Select "Next" and the computer will recover itself based on its configuration settings in the recovery partition.
This will take your computer on the day you bought it. You will get all application back which were pre-installed and will loose everything which you put by yourself.
Just on phone with ASUS rep. We're getting error on boot on a new unit. Told me to remove battery and power line and hold down power button for 30 seconds then plug in power (not batt) and press power then immediately press F9 again and again until a recovery screen that would reinstall from partition on hard drive appeared. Sadly, F9 didn't work for me and its off to service dept with a brand new unit that worked for 2 hours. Not so sure about ASUS. Have Compaq, HP & Toshibas with only one problem Toshiba within first year of purchase.
Hi. Actually when you restore your system to its factory settings it will restore everything on your computer including the original operating system, but if you're saying that you have installed windows 7 on it then try going to ASUS driver support website, just type in their the model of your machine and it will ouput every software and drivers available for laptop and also different versions of operating system, So just choose the correct OS version for your laptop. Hope this Helps
Restart your computer and press F9 key when the computer is starting up.
On some computer you can press the F4 key and you will be able to
activate the partition that is set inactive. After that your computer
will restart and you can restore the system as you like. But the
condition of course is that the drive is not corrupted which in that
case means you will have to get the CD or the download your drivers.
