Hi,

Try going into the main menu and selecting 'set up'. In there you will find a function called USB mode. Make sure this is set to 'auto' or 'mass storage'.

Failing that it could be a problem with the memory stick. They can cause problem after time especially if you delete a lot of images in the camera. The best way to download images from a DSC is to use a card reader, they are much faster than the cameras and don't have any of the problems associated with camera downloading. They are very cheap $5/£10.

Cheers

Try using other cable, maybe your cable is already worn out (or has some disconnection). if your camera comes with a memory car, try using a card reader to transfer your photos

Olympus cameras have different USB cords and cards, xD cards are used in Olympus and Fuji cameras only. If it is not recognized via USB cable there may be a faulty cable or USB port if the camera is working. You can get a card reader as they are fairly cheap these days and take the card out and put it in the card reader to get the Chrissy photos.

Please don't take the following as a sales pitch as it's not, but please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of an inexpensive card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue:

It's very hard to troubleshoot software problems online, and it likely is a software issue. But why put up with the headaches of bad software in the first place? From the link above , you could down load the driver for Apple mac. Once you download and install the driver on your computer. you restart it.

You can now connect your computer by the USB cord and download the picture.
I hope the above can help.
There is a good review of F50 on the link below, I am sure it will also help.

It has suddenly become impossible to get my computer to "see" my Canon Ixus 950 IS, and so I cannot download pictures. I have tried re-install;ing the "EOS" software. Any ideas, please

There are many reasons for sync problem errors between cameras and computers, making it very difficult to troubleshoot here. Would first recommend that you try plugging the USB cord into a different USB port on your computer. If that doesn't work, would highly recommend that you consider using a card reader instead to download you pictures. Card readers are much more faster in downloading pics, do not require the use of your camera's batteries, and provide much more reliable downloading of the pictures (fewer errors). They're also VERY inexpensive these days. Here are some examples from Amazon:

Pictures taking fine and showing fine in camera. Once loaded into computer they are miscolored, misaligned, and have lines running through them for viewing. They also print that way.

You don't say what camera you are using.
If the camera has a removable card, try the card in a card reader attached to your PC. This will tell you if the problem is with the camera or with the downloading software/hardware. If the pictures read OK directly off the card, there must be a problem with the downloading system. If the pictures are defective when read using the card reader, try replacing the card.

Hope this helps
