Question about Computers & Internet
I have installed a Hitachi Deskstar 400gb hard drive I have windows xp the hard drive shows up in device manager and the drives are fine but when I click on my computer it doesn't show up. There is .no settings on the hard drive to set it to slave.Any advice please
In order to set it to slave you first needs to make sure the cable that u hoodked up to the hard drive is the slave not secondary then boot the computer to the bios and then under the ide section section you need to ensure that the hard drive is recognized as primary slave it will show the hard drive as a primary or a secondary that will let you you that u have the cable hooked up to the harddrive right if not usee the other connector on the same cabel and repeat the bios settings i know it sounds hard but it really is not good luck !!!!
