Question about Whirlpool AWM5104/1 Front Load Washer

We have an ASKO W600 washer that won't drain out completely and we have to put the programme back on to a spin cycle to drain out and finally open the door. It makes washing time a lot longer and is a pain. Do you have any solutions. Thanks phil

    Hi!

I also have an Asko W600 that won't drain. Each time I open the drain on the bottom more coins keep appearing! I think coins are stuck and are gradually dislodging. I'm trying to get my hands on a repair manual so I can replace the pump. It shouldn't be too difficult.

We also have an ASKO W600 washer that will not drain. We invariably have to manually drain the water every other load. Is there a defect in the machine that the company can help us with? We are ready to pitch them and buy Kenmore or Maytag!

Find out where your filter is and clean it out thoroughly, your problem will be solved. The manuals don't reveal where your filter is (or what the codes are), they need further business by sending in stupid techs to collect further money................Click Asko W600 filter, on the fixya search bar above.

Asko w600 front load washer did not spin water out of clothes. I emptied the drain pump and now it fills with water but doesnt wash the clothes. The water drains out but nothing else. Help

Check to see if your model has a "out of balance" micro switch.
If it's tripped from you moving the unit around you may have to reset it manually. It will be mounted somewhere close to the outer perimeter of the tub. Can't say exactly where. Could be high or low.

It won't stop washing, after a while the diital screen flashes "F3"

Hello Matthew, welcome to FixYa.

To address your post of the washer running a long time and eventually displaying an "F3"...they are directly related. These will not spin until they drain sufficiently.

The F3 indicates an issue with the drain, pump filter, or the pump itself. There is typically a drain filter in the pump as you may or may not know, based on your description it may be clogged. You'll need to access it, clean it out via draining it through the pump "emergency drain hose" before you can in the end open the door (though usually once drained to a safe level it will open under normal procedures) however there should be a door lock release on Asko built machines...including this series you posted
.

**This is the procedure for machines of the past 10yrs. or so...(this is only an example, it may not be exact but essentially the same as yours as well as most W600 or 6000 series)**

Hopefully this will help. Let me know if anything is unclear or If I can assist you going forward. Thank you for choosing FixYa and good luck going forward.

I have an asko w600 front load washer, seems to wash ok, but will not go into spin cycle, drain pump operates - slowly, but does not start spin cycle. saw somewhere on net that pump may be faulty

Hello Greg, welcome to FixYa.
To address your post of the washer not spinning and your curiosity of a faulty pump...the pump may simply be obstructed preventing a proper drain, thus a compromised spin, they are directly related. These frontloaders will not spin until they drain sufficiently. (though a faulty drain pump is possible, it woud be the exception, not the rule).

I have an Asko W600 front load washer that does not spin water out of clothes. It fills, washes, empties but does not spin- skips this part.

Hi

First make sure that nothing is blocking the drain pump assembly located inside the bottom of the unit, after this test the door lock-switch assembly. If the door lock-switch is also fine then the control board should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Asko front loader, fill with water but won't wash, drains water OK

Hi, Have you removed the back panel to insure the belt is on ? What about the spin cycle, will it spin ? (That will also tell you the belt is good by the way) I'll watch for your reply. Regards, Macmarkus :)

The washer will not open after a cycle completes

Hello,

The Asko W600 & 620 series machines are designed in a way which if the control detect`s water still in the machine ( rightly or wrongly ) it will not allow the door to be opened.

Saying that, does the timer stop at "C" or "S" ?

I`d say obviously the first thing to check is the presence of water in the basket. You can open the door manually by first accessing the drain pump door located below the main door to the left. There you`ll see a small hose and a red colored ring screwed to the cabinet. With some towels close by and maybe a shallow cookie sheet, baking pan, open up the small hose plug and allow the water to drain out. Following this, unscrew the larger pump insert/button catcher. Now locate the small red ring I mentioned, unscrew the single torx screw holding it to the cabinet and pull it straight down, this should release the door lock.

If you still have trouble, let me know. I have a complete service manual I can send you if an email address is supplied. The file is a "pdf" and approx. 1.1mb in size ( pretty small, it`s mostly literature with some illustration`s for training Asko provided us techs. who are authorized servicer`s )

I`ll watch for your reply. If this was all you needed then please rate this solution accordingly.

Thank`s for visiting "fixya" and good luck going forward.

I have an asko 11505 clothes washer. For some reason, it is not going through all of the spinning cycle, it spins for a short time, then stops abrutely. I cleaned the coin stop, cleaned out all water...

My Asko 11505 washer fills only a little water then shuts off. If I drain the washer with the drain hose from under the machine, then the machine will start up and fill enough water to fill the hose again, then shut off.

The spin cycle doesn't seemt o be working

This could be due to several reasons: your filter could be blocked, the drain behind your machine could be clogged, needs to be snaked; your pump could be clogged. You have to clean out these things........

Asko W600 spin cycle not working

Check the brushes oin the motor. It's the most normal fault when this problem appears. Not a big thing to fix for a technician!
