Does it do the same when used with another PC, all cables are good?
If it is the monitor, then please read below.

If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Onn roku TV screen blacks out

I"m guessing it's the TV, chances are it would loose sound as well if it was the streaming service. Are your backlights staying on when the screen goes black?

My LG 23SL7D will not stay on, it temporarily will connect to PC then screen will go black.

If the screen keeps going black and you know thet your graphics card is ok (test monitor on another computer), then the issue is probably with the internal monitor power capacitors, which you will need to take to a TV repairman to have inspected

My LCD HDTV screen keeps going black.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

this is usualy caused by exessive dust on circuit boards ,if the screen goes black and the sound stays on this may be your problem, beware tvs hold charge even when unpluged so would advise taking to shop hope this helps andy

Black Picture

The picture coming on then going off to a totally black screen is a sign of the high voltage generator being marginal in its performance.

The repair may be simple and inexpensive; or something more sinister. The technician will have to tell you.

Let me know the outcome. I am very interested in this rather strange case.
