The front of the motherboard contains ports that all of the internal components connect to. A single socket/slot houses the CPU. Multiple slots allow for one or more memory modules to be attached. Other ports reside on the motherboard which allow the floppy drive hard drive and optical drive to connect via ribbon cables. Small wires from the front of the computer case connect to the motherboard to allow the power, reset and LED lights to function. Power from the power supply is delivered to the motherboard by use of a specially designed port. http://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://www.pcstats.com/articleimages/200303/ hope this helps
Make sure you are putting the front usb header connector on the proper USB pin connection on the motherboard. You should see nine pins in 2 rows together. Check the manual that came with the motherboard to find the correct pins location.
You need a usb header for it on your main board or you need an external usb 3 cable to run it to a usb 3 port at the back of your box.
What I'm not quite understanding is why you have the blue cable as well as a normal usb connector dangling from the end of it. When I connected both of those up to usb3 ports I shorted out my motherboard. Not good.
Also I'm not entirely sure that the blue cable works for me. I couldn't read my external flash drive with it.
I see many comp. with problem on front usb port. In some case USB port isn´t right plug in motherboard, or is everything OK but they don´t recognize USB stick.
Only one, don´t lose you time with that, don´t use that USB port.
You need a separate cable, called a USB header. It plugs to the connector in the case and onto your motherboard. A lot harder to find that you would think too, my top ports still are not hooked up after several years.
The Front Panel Audio connection should have a couple of wires to plug in into your MotherBoard. Usually, the connectors are named and all you need to know is the exact location in your MotherBoard. I would suggest you to visit your MotherBoard manufacturer and download the manual for your MoBo. You will find in the manual a diagram of the MotherBoard which shows the location for those wires.
