Computer clock Hello, I have a new $800 hp pavillion dv6000 that I got at Best Buy, so I am working with a great machine, but I am wondering if my little date and time clock in windows will keep true time for the upcoming school semester. Reason why is I am using Mozilla Thunderbird which is like microsft outlook, and if the clock doesnt keep good time, then the date will go bad. I just want the time to be automated. I don't mind syncing the clock maybee once every six months or something like that, but automated would be best. [email protected]

if u r having isues with the sound system of ur PC then most probably the IRQ of the sound chip is out....no new driver can fix it....
the best alternative is
buy this on Ebay for 1$...it's called USB Sound Adaptor...

If your particular model of HP has the bluetooth installed from the factory, turning on the wireless switch on the front left edge of the laptop enables the bluetooth, as well as the wireless LAN. A bluetooth icon should appear in your taskbar, near the clock, when bluetooth is turned on. Most of the cheaper versions of the DV6000 series do not come with the bluetooth module installed. The module can be ordered from HP Parts and installed by the end user, if they have a little computer know how. You would then download and install the bluetooth software pack that is available on HP's support website.

You first remove that device from device manager.
Then restart the pc.
You may check the BIOS menu for that device for any clarification.
After restart since u have removed it the OS will detect the device and install it automatically.

I absolutely understand what you have gone through, but then again I have run into this with most of the computers I have worked on. I will tell you this though, the two laptops I have worked on the lest are Dells and Gateways, I rarely see them come in the shop....my shelves however are filled with HP, Compaq and Acer....most of the models I have that have been abondoned are DV6000 and DV9000s. Figure that.

They are right, some DVs have this problem. If you can live without the ports, then do it. If you can't, replacement is the only option.

could be bad usb ports cheak bios are they enabled u could buy a pcmia card or docking stations with new ports cused by shock or gets hot fails
