My wife was watching the unit today and it just shut off. I have checked different outlets to verify poper power all have worked with other products. We have had this unit for less then year.
I had the same problem. I took it to repair facility and they told me they see these TV's in all the time for repair. It was the internal power supply. Since it has to power on the TV, VCR and DVD player, the power supplies go quickly on these TV's. He advised me it would be about $225 to repair. We only paid $318 for the TV. I am going to buy a new one and not get a combo.

We were watching a dvd and the unit shut off. We can't get the DVD door to open. Is there anything we can do to get the DVD to open and start playing a DVD?

Hello,
It sounds as if you are having problems with the AC Power reaching the television. Please verify the cord is firmly seated the tv's ac inlet
Also check the wall outlet (and power strip) by plugging in a lamp into it and see if it flickers when the tv shuts off.
Good Luck!

Try turnning your tv off, unplug unit from outlet, press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds, let go of power button, if plugged into surge protector try wall outlet, if plugged into wall outlet try a different outlet, power tv on using power button on tv. Did you have a storm in you're area?
Check power outlet and ensure there is power. If necessary, try the TV on some other power outlet. If it does not switch on, it is better to call in a qualified service technician, as back cover has to be opened.
Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and
remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.
the Vcr mech assy needs to be replaced it was a very common problem with this model try partsearch.com if they still have them avail around 70 bucks not an easy job to replace two cables have to be unsoldered and re attached to the new mech assy and the mode switch has to be set in the hole od the cam gear
Open TV and notice if the VCR cartridge jumps (jitters) back and forth when you plug the TV in before it shuts down. If it does, there is a good chance you will have to replace the VCR mech on this unit (available from Andrews Electronics and maybe MCM electronics for $40-$50). This is a common problem on this unit. I work in a TV repair shop and see a lot of these come in for this reason.
Hi! I think something to do with power supply.Try using different power outlet or have to replace the fuse inside the unit.If your tv is withing the warrenty dont open it,call samsung
