i'm trying to turn my webcam on on my hp pavilion widescreen dv6000 lap top and i dont no how? it was working fine but its not now I have a built in webcam on my HP pavilion dv6000. It was working fine but then it just stopped working. I have restarted everything but it still wont turn on. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is known Webcam issue in DV6000 notebooks. To resolve or narrow down the issue, we have to check few things.
First open Device Manager.
Please follow these steps to open Device Manager:
1. Right Click on 'My Computer' icon on Desktop and choose Properties. 2. The System properties Window opens. 3. Click Hardware tab and then click the Device Manager button.
Expand + Imagining Devices and check if the HP Webcam is listed under it.
If Webcam is not listed there, then you have to contact HP to get the BIOS update.
If it is listed there, right click on it and select Disable. Again right click on it and select Enable.
Now open any applications like Quickplay and check if Webcam is working or not.
Please reply me if that won't resolve the issue, I can provide more work arounds
There are so many different Pavilion laptop models now it's crazy. In fact, there are over 1000 different HP Pavilion models alone!
Every single one of them requires a different web cam driver update that
is designed to run for that system (to KEEP it working).
On top of that, there are multiple operating systems and even
different types of web cams which all require their own specific set ofinstall instructions for updating the web cam drivers
so that you don't have to worry about continually repairing the camera.
As time goes on HP gets better and better at fixing and preventing these web camera errors but that's all dependent on you following the most updated drivers first.
I've found that some of the fixes for the HP Pavilion laptop web cam work and some do not. If you aren't able to find a solution for your Pavilion model here at FixYa, write down the correct information for your HP Pavillion laptop computer and
follow the steps HP provides for updating the built-in webcam drivers

Upon replacing my HP laptop's lcd screen, the new installment is rendering 4 screens of windows at startup. I've played around with the display settings and tried updating display drivers and nothing seems to help. Does this mean the screen I purchased is incompatible? Is it hardware or graphics card related? If so, why? The general impact that shattered the old screen was directly on the lcd itself-- if it was localized how would it affect the graphics card or other hardware?

i have a sony laptop with a built in motion eye webcam, and ive been trying to figure out to even open the document area where you start up your webcam.
i have been searching on how to open the document or how to instal the webcam. i also i look in the control panels and there is no sign of the motion eye webcam at all
so please help me .
The webcam was working fine for several months. Then later it would open up but once the program was closed, it wouldn't open unless the computer was restarted. Now its not opening at all. When I open up HP Webcam from the start menu, the program opens up and where the camera would show up (middle of screen) the word Quickplay is shown.
I have the same problem. I'm using AIM to talk to my friends and although I can see them when we intiate a video chat, they cannot see me but they can hear me. I tried doing what you said, but it was of no use.
