Question about Toshiba 32A43 32" TV

1 Answer

Power surge My Toshiba 32a43 was power surged. Now the power (from remote or power switch itself ) won't turn TV on. I found a burnt fuse and replaced it. still, no power on. Could somethig else be burnt out ? are there any re-set switches to re-set?

The power on my Toshiba 27AF45 TV keeps switching off and I have to turn it on again. It powers on for a while but then switches off again. I've replaced the cable box but the same problem persists.

Yes possibile there's some IC's that are burn inside it and also the power supply can be damage so resetting it will not do anything , if you can take it to a repair center and let them check this unit and fix it.

Good luck........

Toshiba tv 32a43 changes input by itself

I will try to explain this: I first presume there is a physical button on the set for the input options.

I have seen this a lot:
Not the plastic button on the set but the tiny push switch behind it.
These are called momentary switches as only should function when the plastic button is pressed and contacts the momentary switch.

They go bad, and will internally engage without be touched.

The simple way to prove/disprove this is to open the set and get at that switch which usually is soldered into a small circuit board--two pins for the switch and maybe two more tabs for mounting.

If individual switches unsolder and REMOVE THE INPUT SWITCH (the one under the plastic button on the set)

Set should now operate normally and remote should have same feature on it. If it works you do not have to replace anything.

FYI: the reason the remote may not be working is the buttons on the set have PRIORITY over the remote.

Both the remote and the buttons go to the same area inside the set but buttons are #1 in line.

The remote or power switch will not turn the TV on, does it have a reset switch

Most likelly you have had a power surge through your house and it blew the fuse inside the tv. If you take the back panel off the fuse will be by the power cord becarefull and pop out the old fuse if its burnt or the metal wire is missing on the inside then you just need to replace the fuse with the same amps and voltage as the old fuse. If you read the motherboard where the fuse goes it will tell you what type of fuse it calls for.And when tvs work fine one dau and then the next wont even make a sound when hitting the power button 9 out of 10 times the fuse is the issue. GOOD LUCK too you and HOPE this helps!!! Good day!!

Tv volume turns down by itself

I had that happen to me once and found that one of my remotes was under the sofa cushion, However, I would look at the connections on the pcd that has the volume controls on them, the down switch either has moisture or corrosion behind it, or the switch itself is faulty, if not, remove all dust from inside the set, some may be causing conductivity on the processor, I believe it will be a mechanical type fault rather than electronic...try that...Phil

Volume go up to MAX, power button does not work

To all of you, change the tact switches (all of them) on the front panel control board and end of problem, very common problem, part number for these switches is 23344443, any or several will become "leaky" and give all sorts of symptoms, MANY times this is caused by using windex or similiar type cleaners, it gets into the switches and corrupts them, this will fix-ya, BMW Rider

Tv problems

There are a number of things that can cause this.

If you have a compact flourescent lamp in the room, this can cause some models of TV sets to go nuts, or not respond to the remote. These compact flourescent lamps use a frequency band that is close to the data carrier freqency of the remote.

Excellent article about compact flourescent lamps interfering with appliance IR remotes:

The other thing that can be wrong is there may be a fault in the keypad assembly on the TV set, or a fault condition with the uPC.
