Thank you for your response geeemarie. I actually ended up taking the sewing machine back to the store for an exchange. It was a manufacturer's defect. My new machine is running great!

Either your sewing machine needs to be cleaned of lint and dust in this area or your needle is bent. I would do the cleaning and install a new needle. Also make sure that your bobbin is sitting properly and tight in its case. Good Luck!

The needle is hitting the bobbin case on my kenmore sewing machine 385.1884180

Have you tried installing a brand-new needle? If the current needle is bent or damaged, it could be why it is hitting the bobbin case. If a new needle does not take care of the issue, you may need to take it for service.

My Kenmore Mini Ultra sewing machine won't sew the button stitch. I have followed the instructions on the manual but still the thread does not get sewn onto the fabric. Simple straight stitches are ok

it's possible that there could be a problem with the gear or cam that does the button hole stitch

try a different needle--one for the fabric being sewed
try a different bobbin --make sure the bobbin is not warped or damaged
try different thread-- use EVERY thread guide

make sure the bobbin is wound correctly--inserted correctly in to the bobbin case--and turned the right way.

How to adjust placment of twin needle so it doesnt hit edge of bobbin holder?

The needle should not hit the bobbin holder at all. Do you have the needle inserted all the way? If it is too low, it will hit. If you are saying the needle is hitting the sides of the needle plate where the needle goes through, then the needle is too wide for the plate. Either use a narrower twin needle or see is a needle plate with a wider needle hole came with your machine. Some decorative stitches can't be used with a twin needle because the combination of width of stitches and width of needle is too wide. In that case, narrow the stitch width until the needle doesn't hit the needle plate or use a narrower twin needle. I hope I have helped and answered some of your questions. Good luck.

It wont stitch tee/shirt material it misses stitchs

If machine misses stitches consistently, it can be several things.
Needle not installed correctly, not threaded correctly, Bobbin case not installed correctly, make sure the bobbin itself is inserted correctly and spinning in the correct direction.
Finally, machine may need service the timing is off. All actions of a sewing machine are carefully "timed" to form a stitch while sewing. Sewing things that were too heavy for the machine or you hit the bobbin case while sewing can knock the machine out of adjustment.
Let a professional do the maintenance on your machine. Some may opt to show you how to do more in depth maintenance yourself at home.
Cheers,

Sewing machine wont stitch in reverse, needle hitting bobbin feed.

since the needle is hitting the bobbin feed it has to be replaced, if the machine continues to hit the bobbin feed the most likely the machine is out of time & has to be retimed at a sewing machine repair shop
they would also be able to see why the machine won't stitch in reverse

I have a Elna 6003. Recently I started having problems with the stitches skipping, and the machine was making a clicking sound. Now I have discovered that the needle is hitting inside the bobbin case and I...

skipping stitches can be the needle is damaged--flat side of needle goes to the back side of machine
normally when the needle is hitting the inside of the bobbin the timing is usually off, & can only be fixed by a sewing machine repair tech

I have a bernina activa 130 and when you turn the wheel to insert the needle into the fabric the needle breaks. I am not sure what to check.

Check that your needle is centred when straight-stitch is selected and / or that you have the correct stitch-plate fitted. Is the needle breaking because it is hitting the stitch-plate or is it breaking when the needle goes down through the slot/hole in the stitch-plate. If you are sewing zig/zag or patterns, you must have a slotted stitch-plate fitted. If it's breaking when the needle passes below the stitch-plate, then take the bobbin /bobbin case out and the hook/shuttle and see if it still happens. If it does, the timing on your machine may be out and need professional adjustment. If it doesn'y happen after removing just the bobbin case, make sure the bobbin case is being correctly fitted.

Needle breaks due to bobbin case slippage. How do

The maintenance section of your instruction book shows how to install the bobbin case. Be sure the needle is at it's highest position to do this.

The bobbin case should never slip once it is properly installed.

If the needle continues to hit the case, the machine needs to be serviced by an authorized Brother dealer if you are the original owner to prevent invalidation of the warranty.

If you try to adjust the timing you could run into additional problems.
