Yah windows is installed i've updated everything I thought i installed all the drivers but it just won't pick up the card. The card is D-Link WDA-2320

  • psychoghetto Aug 09, 2008

I have tried to get the newest drivers but it won't even detect that the wireless internet card is in the computer

I've tried plugging it into a wired connection and now my ethernet driver isn't working. I can't get on to the Acers website for driver support to find out if there is a better driver.

Is the operating system reloaded? What is the make and model of the wireless adaptor?

If they were part of the operting, they would be there. You might want to download a new set or get them for the CD that came with the device.

Do you have a way of plugging it in wired into the router to get the wireless drivers you need? Try that and then it should work.

Usually when you reinstall Windows, it work better on wired network anyways than it does wireless.

Recently I reformat my os from vista to xp but many of my devices are not functioning. There is no sound, I cannot access internet through my wireless Lan. What you think should I do?

Heya

Nothing to worry about my friend. The drivers of some devices the computer are missing.
This you can check by
Right click on my computer
Click on properties
Then hardware
Device manager
Now you will be able to see the list of items and you see a yellow question mark on some of the devices.
Now drivers for those devices are missing
Now right click on those devices and click update driver
Now if this does not automatically downloads the driver you would have to search for the drivers on the internet provided if you know the name of the device I.E. the manufacturer of that device

Hopes this fixes your problem. If it doesn't please reply

Thanks & Regards

Formatted pc and now its not detecting internet connection.. checked ipconfig but loks like my pc doesn't show no IP address.... everything else in d pc works fine except for the internet connection....

Did you reformat with the manufacturer's discs? If not, you are likely missing the LAN drivers for your NIC (Network INterface Card). Right-click on My Computer and select Manage. this will bring up the Device Manager screen, and if you see a yellow question mark next to the LAN driver then this is the reason.

My dell 2400 wont pick up the usb wireless internet and the mouse aint working. Plus the screen resolution is bad and its saying certain programmes are not installed but they are.

Sounds like someone re-installed the system, If I'm correct you are running barebones windows. If your dell hasn't been reformatted there will be a drivers folder on the C: drive.

You can work your way through it one driver at a time and reinstall all of them, I recommend doing the video card first if you're able to determine which is which(can't on many models) as this will make it easier to see what you're doing.

Once you have a video driver and your network card working you can go to dells site, click on downloads and drivers and punch in your express service code(on a sticker on the bottom) and it will bring up a list of all relevant drivers that's easier to sift through.

Givver a try and get back to us geeks if it doesn't work.

Hello my acer e380 all of a sudden quit playing audio

There probably is a problem with your sound card. Go to Device Manager (start>programs>rightclick My Computer>hardware) and see if there is a yellow, red or black mark next to sound card. Click the "+" sign and click on update drivers...if that does not fix the problem then the sound card needs to be replaced..good luck. Let me know if you have any problems..

Driver missing

SM bus controller is the same as chipset driver. You can go to this link & download & install the
Aspire E380/T180 Chipset Driver
Windows XP.
http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/AcerDrivers/Aspire%20E380.pdf?CFID=1641205&CFTOKEN=76859024
If this fails to install the driver you may need to use the restore CD or reinstall windows from scratch.

Try to disable wireless card on your desktop. With both the wireless and cat-5 socket enabled, "WITHOUT" the proper bridge settings, they will conflict and not be able to read.
