Yes, my best bet is that there is no constant power going to the radio. Usually car stereos have 2 power wires. Generically, they are yellow and red on most major car stereos. The yellow wire needs to be powered at all times and the red wire needs to turn on when the car turns on. It is possible that you have them switched around. It would still work if you have them switched just wouldn't hold any memory. If they are correct I would search for a blown fuse. Make sure to check EVERY fuse.
