I have 2 xboxs and each work fine on the slow speed enternet alone i upgraded 8 times faster to put both on at same time now i have more lag and enteruptions then ever my xbox tells me to open my nat and...

It seems that there is an issue with traffic congestion here. Try connecting at different times of the day to see if that helps. Also it wouldn't hurt to upgrade your internet package if you can afford it.
About the NAT: The Xbox should run just fine without NAT being open, but it wouldn't hurt to open them.
Depending on the router there are different ways of setting it up, but if you have default settings, you should be able to go into the router and change some settings to make it run more efficiently.
Basing off that router that you suggested the issue is with, Assuming you have default settings, go to 192.168.1.1 on a computer connected through the router (Through one of the ethernet ports) and login with either "1234" as the username and "admin" as the password (no quotes) or a blank username and password "admin"
Then follow these steps on this website, but do not change port 80. http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/BEFDSR41W/Xbox_Live_360.htm

Internet connot display web page all the time , and slow download speeds, modem adsl light coming on constantly.

Dealt with a lot of these. It is either :

1. Wrong password and ISP information - double check that everything your ISP has asked you to put in is correct

2. Bad phone connection - even if the ADSL light comes on (which means the router can see an ADSL connection from your phone provider) does not mean the line is clean. Pull out all the connections to your home phone, and just plug in the router to get it all up and running. Once happy reconnect one at a time all phones, digi boxes etc.

3. Adding to 2. - have you got a splitter? If so, change your splitter or reconnect, splitters can fail quite easily and get old fast - a bad splitter creates a lot of noise on the line, making the internet time out

It could be a router fault, they last about 4 years before they start doing silly things. But likely one of the above.

Try two sites once you are happy :

www.speedtest.net - to check your connection speed
www.pingtest.net - to check line quality

Linksys speed cut off

First, are you connected via Ethernet cable or are you linking via Wi-Fi? If Wi-Fi the speed is alway slower (up to 54 Mps) If connected by Ethernet, your connection speed should read 100 Mbps. Once you have determined the connection mode and speed.unplug the wireless router and connect the computer directly to the modem. Now test the speed and see if the speed lag is still ther. If not, you have a routing /networking issue but, it it is still the same speed, it could very well be heavy traffic ( a lot of people drawing from the same local area signal., usually at specific times of the day).

I have intermittant but persistant loss of internet connection on my belkin 54 (only after 4pm!)

If it is only from a certain time of the day I would strongly suspect one of three things

1. You may have a torrent client set to start downloading at around that time. If you have change the time schedule.

2. You may have a security program set to run. If so then the same as above change it.

3. This one is quite important. If you run your wireless router without any security settings. Then somebody might just be coming home around that time an hijacking your internet without your knowledge. If you Dont have it set for any secure mode do it as soon as possible and also change and passwords on the router etc.

4. Your ISP is engaging in DPI type throttling or som other sever bandwidth limiting. With only one computer hooked up do a quick search for "broadband speed test" assuming you are on DSL , cable etc
and try the speed tests . If they come back nowhere near what you are paying for call your ISP and kick some...
Dont forget that speed tests are just a guide so if its anywhere close to that you pay for then there is not much anybody can do to improve it.

Vista keeps losing internet connection

open device manager and  look at network adapters and right click on your device and go to properties and uncheck the power management box that allows pc to put device to sleep. this should resovle your problems since windows id defaulted to put device asleep when idle to save power. hope this helps.

Internet cut out

I had this problem as well, noise and cutting out. I found out that its only because you are missing one of those special boxes you plug into your phone line then it plugs into the wall.

Without this you will get heavy static and you will lose Internet each time someone calls because thise small little boxes split the signal. Mine came from Qwest using an Actiontec router and the boxes I am talking about have a little phone on them and they are tan.

You should try unplugging all your phone for 2 hours if you still have a problem and see if it is better, if it is, then it has to be what I am talking about. If your still have problems with it cutting out after unplugging all of your phones look for other things that are wireless (iPods, cells, Wiis, Xbox, PS2-3s etc.)

I need to change the mtu settings on my belkin f5d9230-4 router

You will need a PC that's wired or wireless through the router.

1.) Open Internet Explorer , type 192.168.2.1 in the address bar and press Enter.
2.) A windows will pop up for username and password. Type admin for both. If it does not accept admin, type the username and password that you set the first time you setup your router
3.) On the Belkin web interface click the WAN tab (left side of the screen) > select Connection Type and look for an MTU box (lower part of the window)
4.) Change the MTU and save the changes.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Slow internet

If you have 3mb, you have cable internet right? If so, the cable company cuts your speed off if you download too much over a certain period of time. My cable company confirmed this. I can download all I want from midnight til noon, but after that... They will cut your speed off if you download more than a certain amount. You can call them to find out what the amount is.
