Question about Dell Dimension 8400 PC Desktop
I just had a Dimension 8400 that crapped out on me every time I started Windows. I ran the dell diagnostics utility and it came up with a bad memory module on slot 0. Can you tell me:
1. If I have the case open and I'm looking at the motherboard, from which side does the memory increrment. From the left or right?
2. I know? I have 3GB in there but I see 4 sticks. Something isn't right.!!!
Thanks for the help.
Look at the manual but it's more than likelly the one furthest from the edge of the board. it may tell you in one of the applications, like check you device manager or down load a free copy of Soft Sandra, from their wesite, it will give you all of the spec's for enery component in the case. It sounds like a ram mismatch taker them out and look at the individual sticksyou may have 2x1gig modules and 2x 512 gig modules, that would add up to 4 and fill all of the slots.
