Re: don't work with the cigarette lighter connector
Check if you are able to charge other devices via the cigarette lighter such as a cellphone or try to use the lighter if the light does not get as hot as normal then that means that there is not enough power. If that looks ok then try another cable charger for your Nuvi

Assuming there is power at the cigarette lighter jack - turn the Nuvi off - then connect the charger. It should display charging battery or charging complete. If nothing - does it charge with the wall charger? If so check the fuse in the car charger - it's usually in the tip of the charger which can be turned to get the fuse out.
if the light is on the bit that goes in cigar lighter in car then fault in unit or wrong charger being used, i f no light on charger the replace/check fuse in charger ( unscrew tip ) and or check cigar lighter working in car
Buy a adapter for your cigarette lighter socket that has multiple sockets with one that will fit the Garmin adapter. I've never heard of a problem you are having?? Are you using a Garmin plug? If not get one.
Just use your USB cable that came with it to connect it to your computer. It will charge just fine. You can also use a cell phone charger that has a USB connector. A lot of cell phones use this type of charger now and the charge will work fine with the GPS>
I had the same problem. My Nuvi 350 did not power up for a couple of days. I suspected moisture to be the culprit. So I took my wife's hair dryer and blew hot air(in the intermediate setting) into the SD card slot in the GPS for a couple of minutes. Take care not to overheat the GPS or Screen. Pronto my GPS powered up without any issues. Hope this helps
