Hi,

There's no special requirement that you need to keep the door open. But, If you keep it closed after your done washing, some water is usually left behind and if you don't wash for a few days it could make the first few loads have a certain musty odor. I always leave the door open for a few days to dry out the insides then close the door and I haven't noticed the musty smell. Good luck.

Do i need to keep the door open when i reset my Apple Safe Master YDB-AJ?

You may not need to have the door open when changing a code (many safes do not require this) but it is a certifiable insanity not to keep the door open when reprogramming any safe - electronic or mechanical.

If something goes wrong in the code changing process and you wind up with an unknown or scrambled with the door locked....well, use your imagination....

If the door is open at least you can call a professional to default it at best, or access the contents and junk the safe or lock at worst.

With most mechanical safes the door must be open in order to access the change code procedure, but electronic locks may not have that safety built in.

Also, don't attempt it without the manual for that model. And look for any section that talks about defaulting the codes before you start. And operate the lock with the new code a few times with the door open and check it works, before closing the door and trusting you have got it right.

I may be overly suspicious, but either your boss has no clue that this could be a poisoned chalice job, or he knows full well, and doesn't want the egg on his face!

good luck

I would like to know to reverse the door on my dryer

Not all dryers have reversible doors, but most do. This varies from model to model, but the owners manual should have a description to accomplish it. Some models simply flip over using a matching set of screw holes on the opposite side of the door opening while others will require you to disassemble the door and switch parts around to achieve a mirror image of the assembly that will hinge from the opposite side. The latch pin/receiver (on the cabinet) will also need to be addressed as it holds the door tightly closed.

Oven door keeps open ay ideas about the fault cheers

make this test and fix it. GOD BLESS YOU

Door Hinge

An oven door repair may be needed if the door hinge breaks or is bent out of shape. Oven doors have two door hinges, a left and right. On some ovens the same hinge is used, on other ovens the right hinge and left hinge have different part numbers. The door hinge sometimes is sold with all necessary parts and springs, other times the parts need to be ordered separately. An oven door repair for a door hinge is a relatively easy repair for a do-it-yourselfer.

Enter your model number to see parts for your range/stove/oven.

Outer Door Glass

If the outer door glass is broken, it can be replaced. This oven door repair requires that the oven door be removed from the oven and layed down on a sturdy flat surface. The outer door glass is made of tempered glass. Use eye and hand protection when performing this oven door repair.

Bought model (I think this is model #) 29456 at yard sale; using it to heat garage -- do I need to vent? door open ok? or can I use ventless?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Anything that burns produces Carbon monoxide. There is no way to physically vent the space heater but you can leave a side door open for air. The key is to notice the signs of nausea, the lack of ability to do things requiring manual dexterity / clumsiness, dizziness or a headache when your using the unit. Also... it is a good idea to have someone check on you about every 30 minutes if your working alone in a garage. Make sure they know how to turn off the heater and how to open your garage door. (just common sense stuff)

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

I have an old Lifmaster professional garage door opener model 1040-6. I just got a new car that has a built in garage door opener. The instructions call for pushing the reset button on the garage door...

THE OLDER UNITS THAT HAVE SWITCHES INSTEAD OF A PROGRAM BUTTON REQUIRE A DIFFERENT PROCEEDURE - YOU USE A REMOTE PROGRAMED TO THE DOOR TO TRAIN THE VISOR.

IF YOU NEED INSTRUCTIONS GOTO HOMELINK.COM FOR COMPLETE SET - PRINT THEM OUT AND KEEP.

HOPE THIS HELPS

My refrigerator door won't close. How do I know if it is a hinge problem? How do I fix a hinge problem?

Newer model KitchenAid refrigerator doors have a two piece cam on the lower hinge that assists the door in shutting. This cam is made of plastic and the weight of the door tends to grind away this part quickly. To see if you have the cam and it's worn, lay on the floor and compare the freezer door to the fridge while someone opens it. If the cam is there, you'll see the door rise up about a 1/4" when you open it.
If the fridge is a newer model, a call to KitchenAid customer service will get you the parts. If it is out of warranty, they will send you the parts for free if you politely point out that an expensive fridge shouldn't fail like this so quickly.
This is an easy part to part to replace, though it does require taking the door off to do it. Screwdriver and a small socket set is all that is required. 15 minutes to complete the task, including taking the fridge contents off the door. :-)

Gaarage Door

Have you looked on both sides of the door at the bottom there should be cables. If they are not tight you probably have a damaged spring. Look up between the door and where the roller mounts are, there should be a tightly wound spring. This is what keeps the door up, if tension is lost then it will come back down. If it is broken it needs professional attention.

Panasonic NN-ST666W Microwave oven

What usually breaks is the door open lever, but it may be that the rear of the door open button and the face of the door open lever are worn to the point where they will not actuate.

On a counter top model, the outer cover will need to be removed to diagnose and repair this.

On an over-the-range model, only the control panel needs to be
removed in most cases.

Please unplug the oven first.

If you or someone you know wants to look into this, we have critical safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

Once it is apart, you'll be able to see how the door open button would press against the door open lever, which would then lift up against the door latch heads (hook-like projections on the door) and the door should open.

You can find Panasonic parts in Australia here.
