Question about Philips MMS 321 Computer Speakers

Left speaker doesnt work

I have Phillips Multimedia Speakers 2.0. I installed everything correctly but yet the left speaker still has no sound coming from it. I need to know what to do to fix this. Do i need new drivers or a card for these speakers?? I checked my volume control for the speaker and the sound is up for both and the control as balanced between both. So now i am stuck!! Please help!!

Thanks for posting. I actually right now have it plugged in but only halfway and both work fine. It is weird but that is the only thing that has worked so I have just left it like that for now...

I've got the same speakers & have noticed that depending on the type and quality of the device that i plug them into i'll sometimes only get sound from the right speaker. i've deduced that this is due to the type of output the device offers. for example, if i plug the green tip of the cord into the headphone jack of a television with only one speaker only the right speaker will work. hope this helps

Turn up the volume on the left or right speakers or turn down the center channel volume to meet your preferences. There should be a setting for that in most receivers.

Be sure that the wires are connected correctly. If no sound comes out could be speakers are bad, but highly unlikely that all four would be. Could be the stereo amplifier is out. You could try using an amplifier to connect the speakers. One other option run new wire to each speaker to make sure wiring is still good. Funny, this happened to me just 2 days ago, but I get no sound from the left speaker. Maybe they have all of them rigged to fail at a certain time.

Yes there has to be a configuration for the 5.4 surround sound... look if the hardware came with a CD to update the sound driver. or Check if the its correctly configured. on the control panel then click Sound, then depending what windows you have have to lookk for the configuration or properties area and configure as 5.0 or sorround etc.

Speakers not working proprerly

This may be in the sound card settings itself. Even though you may have adjusted the Windows settings {if thats what your using} the sound card needs to also be set up for surround. Some sound cards do not support 4 speakers or surround sound systems. Go to Device Manager and find your sound card and manufacture then check there technical support page for info.
