My 2000 renault scenic battery keeps going flat. I've put in a brand new battery and the car battery died again yesterday at my son's school after starting first time at work. What should I be looking at in the engine.

try to observe for 3 hours per day then find out the main area of the error. if you do know nothing and you need help try to call technician for the immediate response

Have you battery charging system tested, don't drive it until it is repaired, it will die in short order when the battery runs flat.

Flashing clock after dead battery?

The car manual will tell you how to reset the clock. Or contact the dealer OR
go to manufacturer web site for manual download.

Alternator problems may be. Check if that gets the charge while engine's running.

My renault megane scenic only starts some days and others it is completely dead, I charge up the battery and it's fine for a few days and the dies again, got a new battery and the alternater is fine.

you may have a problem with the alternator sometimes not charging,may test okay sometimes, take a good look at the alternator and also make sure nothing is staying on, like inside lights, glove box light or brake lights, keep an eye on these things when parking the car for the day,something may be draining the battery down slowly.

Possible accesory power relay staying on due to an internal fault. It is above the fuses in the glovebox. Try sitting in the car, locking it then giving the relay a tap

save money take to a renault dealership and ask 4 a computer diagnostic test,that will find problem 4 u,sounds like yr alternator is at fault , not charging battery,hope this helps

Something is draining the battery, or either the alternator isn't putting out to keep the battery charged. A local shop can usually check it for free and let you know if it's the alternator. The other is a shortage somewhere which will be a pain to trace down.

If your vehicle is a 1.6 then it is possible cam sensor has failed and it will drain your battery
