RealTek HDA does not produce sound

I have an Intel DG31PR board with the built-in sound card that runs Realtek High Definition Audio ALC888 with the Realtek HDA driver v5.10.0.5672. It appears that there are no conflicts yet I am unable to produce any sound what-so-ever! There does not appear to be any conflict but I cannot figure out how to make the sound work. I am running Windows XP Professional, SP3. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Realtek is the audio driver in most cases. So, by uninstalling it, you have uninstalled the audio driver. You need to re-install it. Here is a link to download the driver. The download will begin automatically. Just click on run:http://biblprog.us.10gb.ru/drivers/realtek/WDM_R262.exe You might also want to install the codecs for the realtek high definition audio from the link: http://download.cnet.com/Realtek-High-Definition-Audio-Codec-Windows-Vista-Windows-7-32-bit/3000-2120_4-10788600.html If you wanna try something new, go for SRS Audio Sandbox. It is small and better. Here's the link to download it: http://download.cnet.com/SRS-Audio-Sandbox/3000-2169_4-10582591.html Note: If the link for the Realtek audio driver does not work, try searching for it on download.cnet.com

Need to install my realtek sound card driver

I would suggest you check with the maker of your machine first. If they don't have the appropriate drivers, you can download them directly from Realtek: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support_task.html

No sound. yellow (!) by audio driver in device mgr. error 10

Go to your device manager (windows key+break, device manager is on the left) and under "Sound, video and game controllers" will be "Realtek High Definition Audio" which has the yellow exclamation mark. Right click it and select uninstall. Reboot, and Windows should detect new hardware. If Windows doesn't automatically install the proper driver, the latest one can be downloaded from Realtek at the following link:

The driver you are installing needs more requirements. try to install driver from mother board CD. If not try to download realtek HD driver compatible to your processor.
