Touch screen not responding correctly

I have just recharged device.  The buttons along the bottom will take me to calendar, contacts, home, etc. but when I attempt to navigate with the stylus, it isn't working.  I can't use to OK or start menu.

The Axim touch screen is extremely sensitive to the placement of the protecting plastic sheet. Check that the the plastic sheet is oriented correctly - the small bended corners must bend downwards. If that wasn't the problem then remove the protection sheet and pick gently directly on the screen with the stylus to see if you get a response. Most often this is due to a problem with the screen protecting plastic sheet.

How can I find a calendar entry on iPod Touch?

<p>Mobile devices like smartphones and iPod Touch has so many uses in day to day, they are quickly becoming the only thing needed in a pocket or purse, replacing address books, calendars and schedules. The iPod Touch allows many events in the calendar application, and you can easily include additional information for your upcoming events. Since much information about so many things can be stored on your iPod Touch, it would be much easier to find an event past or future than navigating to the Calendar application. Find the information you need to use the Spotlight search iPod. <br /> <p><br /> <p>1. Press the "Home" button on the iPod Touch to the Home screen. <br /> <p><br /> <p>2. Press the "Home" in the Spotlight search box. <br /> <p><br /> <p>3. Tap the search bar at the top of the screen and start typing a keyword of your event calendar. This is the title, location, or a word contained in the notes from the events screen. <br /> <p><br /> <p>4. Tap the event in the search results when it is displayed and you will be taken to the "Event Details" screen in the calendar application. <br />

How do you fix a touch screen that does not respond? I have done a complete reset and still nothing. Thanks.

Have you already performed a clean reset? You might know that it will restore your device to its factory settings, thus deleting everything you have installed, as well as your personal data and settings. So, it is strongly recommended to backup your data beforehand.
Anyway, to perform a clean reset, press and hold the Calendar, Power, and Messaging buttons, and, whilst keeping them pressed, press and hold the reset pin with the stylus pen. When your device restarts, release the buttons and the stylus pen from the reset pin.
Hope it works for you.
Cheers! Carlos

Palm m515 When I use the stylist it will not work where I push I reset and it still did not work

you need to recalibrate the touch screen ..
touch the "Home" button a few times until you get "system" in the top right corner .. then select "Welcome" .. that will let you calibrate the touch screen and set the clock/calendar ..

Stylus taps to screen don't result in any changes

Hi there JL Dakota. I had many problems with my Z22 over the years. The top layer of the screen is a plastic sheet that must remain stretched completely ABOVE the lower layer of glass that it sits above. Going to Florida, from a colder climate, for example could WARM the screen up a bit, and allow it to stretch, and hit the lower layer. If it touches the lower layer, it shorts out, and will not respond to any touches after that. Putting it in the freezer will shrink the top layer of plastic temporarily, and allow touching the screen to push it down where you touch. Usually this problem is the result of years of NOT protecting the screen from being pushed on by having a HARD COVER over the screen - for example, keeping the Z22 in a pocket, a shirt pocket, a bag, a purse, a briefcase, even in a drawer full of pens, paper, stapler, etc. would TOUCH the screen, and eventually stretch it. If you see my website analysis of the Z22 kidbots.com/WEBADD/Z22_PALM_PILOT/Z22_PALM_PILOT.html , there are many photographs, and discussions on the various typical Z22 problems that I ran into, and the solutions. These include touchscreen problems, and include putting in the freezer, using a heat gun or hot air hair dryer, splitting the top layer and bottom layer of the screen apart, putting in a new screen ($9 US), etc. I discuss many other issues. Immediately getting a hard cover over the unit at all times is the single most important factor! Once the screen top layer is warped, just sitting the Z22 down upside down might let gravity pull the screen gently away from the glass substrate. Rubbing the screen, using your fingers, sitting the Z22 down on an angle, touching the screen with anything, all could cause it to deform and touch the bottom layer constantly... the link again is below. The general circuit board is incredibly tough, and the amount of abuse it took when I tore it apart repeatedly is amazing. Generally it is bullet proof. The dying battery, the extremely delicate touch screen, and the possibility of buttons shorting, are the biggest problems. Do take a look at the full discussion on the subject at the link. Good luck. Pin problem

Here's how to do one of those infamous "hard resets".

You may lose these settings...
a) Your text messages, MMS and Emails
b) Your XML layouts / Skins / Sounds / Camera pictures
c) Contacts, Tasks, Calendar

..and some other bits ...
Do try and Sync all your contacts/mails/tasks etc first. It might be worth mentioning that in order to do a hardware reset you must have the SD/MMC card in the phone.
Use Orange Backup too to save and restore other bits.
1) Remove the battery and wait 5 seconds. Replace the battery

2) Press and Hold voice recorder button (below power button on the left)

3) Power-on the device

4) The device will enter a special power-up mode

5) "Card found" will be displayed on the screen

6) Shortly after you may receive two options:

"Press any key to enter boot loader"
"Press action button to enter diag mod"

7) Press and hold the Action button

8) After a few seconds a menu will be displayed

9) Select "Erase IPSM" and wait for the screen to display "PASSED"

10) Then move to the left with the navigation button and select "END"

11) A screen with three colours will be displayed

You may now remove and replace the battery and perform a normal power up. :)

Touch screen freezing up

Look at this http://www.fixya.com/support/t132057-getting_past_align_screen

you basically need to get the wire to stop touching the home key, which can be accomplished (as described in the link) with either the quick fix method, wedging something in the bottom screen, or the better-long term method of opening the axim up and taping the part that has shorted.

best,
Greg
