Question about Printers & Copiers

2 Answers

When my electric power goes off from storm, etc; my hp psc 2110 comes back on and makes a clicking noise. I then says warming up. After that when trying to copy it says busy. I have turned off, unplugged, shut down my computer to no avail. Dorothy Deifenbaugh dotjane@frontiernet.net

No, so I will take it to a repairman and if it is junk, I'll buy a new printer. Thanks anyway.

You may try resetting it first follow this:
Try a full reset by holding down cancel and right arrow button while plugging in the power cord.

If the reset doesn't resolve the problem, I speculate that there is an electonic failure, in which case the printer is scrap, you may take it to a repair center near you or call Hp for repair and replacement if still under warranty..

Hope that helps..........

I have an hp psc 2110. I made some enlarged

Some basic steps to begin with:
1. Disconnect the printer from the computer and power off then back on. In some cases the problem can be caused by the print spooler on the computer.

2. If the problem persists, power off the printer and remove the power adapter. Leave the printer sit for 10 minutes or so, allowing the internal memory to clear, After which you should hook the printer back up and reconnect to the computer.

Finally determine if the printer is being recognized, on vista or windows 7 you can do this by clicking 'start' >> 'devices and printers'... or on xp 'start' >> 'control panel' >> 'printers and faxes'
If it is not listed as connected on the list (ie. offline) try uninstalling the printer and rerunning the drivers.

When you turn on the printer it makes a noise like it is trying to calibrate itself and something is stuck. It will not respond to any function on the printer. I have tried disconnecting the electricity to...

look for any obstructions, things often will fall into the printer, or sometimes the plastic gears, or a tab, etc... is broken, sometimes at a greater expense to repair, DEPENDING on what part is broken, but it sounds like a mechanical failure from the descrption

Hp psc 2110 copy problem stuck warming up & scanner bar get stuck

The scanner carret belt might be too loose, so the printer cannot pass through the self-test. Try tightening it a little bit. Also you have to either repair the nobs or solder it.

Hp psc 2110 incorrect ink cartridge message.

Hi plabonne,

I hopped out to HP's support site for stats on your cartridge and found some info at this link:
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/supplies_model.do?product_code=C8648A&jumpid=oc_R1002_USENC-002_HP%20PSC%202110%20All-in-One%20Printer&lang=en&cc=us

are you using an HP 57 Tri-color cartridge? HP printers work best with HP cartridges and often have problems with refilled cartridges. the grinding noise you're hearing makes me wonder if the cartridge isn't seated all the way in its little carridge (the plastic part that holds the cartridge). have you had a chance to slip teh cartridge back out and try gently slipping it back in again?

here's another link to try for info for this model of printer (HP's support site), with specifics about your error message about half way down the page:

hope this helps!

Hp psc 2110 incorrect ink cartridge message.

when ever i get that message it's when i use a "Non-HP" replacement cartridge...try using a HP catridge, or most likely, the printer has reached the end of it's usefull life!

you can try a "full reset" of the printer by..
-unplug it and let sit for a little while,
-BEFORE plugging it back in, press and hold both the enter and cancel buttons,
-plug the power cord in, and wait to release the buttons until the display on the printer tells you to,
-in many cases, this corrects some problems (especially that awfull grinding/ratcheting noise).
after many years of faithful service, i think mine is officially dead though...even the full resxet doesnt help.
