This means that the connection might be faulty
check the leads from the modem/router whether usb, ethernet make sure they are not bad/faulty and have secure connection
the driver should be on the motherboard disc or the one supplied by your ISP internet service provider
click start control panel admistrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down network adapters + expand Ethernet driver right click you will have options to update driver, disable, uninstall or select properties general you will have the options to troubleshoot or to update driver, rollback or uninstall
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver right click to install driver
hope this helps

Dsl light goes beyween blinking green, then goes solid red, then back to blinking green. Cannot connect to internet anymore.

The modem cannot get a signal from your service provider. The DSL light is an indicator if your modem is communicating with the network of your service provider. DSL light should always stay solid green. Try contacting your service provider. It might also be an indication of a bad modem.

Cant get internet connestion

Are you hard wiring it? if so you may need to reboot your modem then start the ps3 back up. Don't unplug from the computer and connect it directly to your PS3 because the modem still has the computer's ip address and it won't recognize the PS3 until you reboot it. If it's a wireless connection, check to see that when you scan for wireless connection that the green wireless LED is blinking, meaning it's searching for a signal. If it's blinking, then try resetting the modem and the wireless router as well and give it another try. If the green light does not blink, then there might be a harware issue with your PS3. Good luck

Westwall modem Internet is solid red light

If the internet light is red, it means that the modem cannot get an ip connection from the ISP.

If your ISP has a PPPOE connection, most likely, the PPPOE password is not correct.

To ensure your settings, access the modem through a web browser. In the address bar, type 192.168.1.1.

Default Username: admin
Default Password: password

If this doesn't work, try admin for the username and password. If still doesn't work, you will need to reset the modem. Just hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Then turn it off for 1 minute.

Try again to access the modem, under Configuration, click Edit beside My Connection. Type your ISP username and password then Save.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Ethernet light is green but continuously blinks is there a problem with modem or ethernet cable?

no, a green light means there is a connection with the network and dns server (gateway to the internet) information is sent allow this network in bundles called packets. Each time a packet is sent the green light blinks.....sometimes when many packets are being sent in succession the light will appear solid. so i wouldnt worry, the green lights on your router and computer are normal and you should become concerned if these lights turn yellow or stop blinking completely.

2Wire 473 router problem

Take the modem and plug it into a GFCI outlet. You can find one in the bathroom or the kitchen.

If the power light comes on solid green and the dsl comes on red then the modem is good. Was it plugged into a power strip by the computer? If so, plug it straight into a wall outlet.

If the power light comes on solid red then the modem has hardware failure. I would contact your ISP and have them replace it if it is still underwarranty.

Internet

Well, I understand that the modem is SS4100, which means ther are
5lights on it being, Power, Ethernet, DSL, Internet & Activity....
Note:The trouble shooting is done according to the Light Status on the modem.
1. No matter what the proble is, the first step is to Power Cycle the modem to eliminate the static on the modem(to switch it off and back on).
2. If the Power Light is anything other than a solid green, then the modem is fried(except the fact that the adapter is plugged and working).
3. If the Power is green and Ethernet is off, then check for the LAN cable at the back
of the computer if its connected to the modem.(It turns green if connected properly)
4. If the DSL light is anything other than solid green, then call up the ISP tech's to ask why the intenet is not working.
(make sure the DSL cable is plugged firmly onto the back of the modem and the wall jack)
5. If the Power, Ethernet and the DSL is green and the internet is not, the open up the Modem page(type 192.168.0.1 in the address bar and enter for the modem page), and cross-check for the username and the password. Save the changes and your internet is working!!!
6.  The Activity light usually blinks green and it does't have much to do with the troubleshooting.
The above are the basic troubleshooting steps.
Hope it solves your problem......
