Change the filters & ensure that the water container is properly seated in the machine. If the water tank is not sealing correctly the machine will not genrate any suction.

Why is the recovery tank on Hoover f6212-900 not filling up?

Hello! There are a few things that can cause the cleaner to lose suction. Please try these quick steps.

1. Remove the dirty water tank.
2. Clear the filter screen of any dirt or debris.
3. Turn the cleaner on, check your motor suction by the filter screen.
4.. Replace the dirty water tank making sure it is flush to the cleaner on all sides.
5. Lift up on top of nozzle and slide off cleaner.
6. Wipe debris off nozzle and front of cleaner with a damp cloth.
7. Replace dirty water tank.

If you felt suction by the filter screen your suction should now be restored. Hope this was helpful!

Ralph, Can you walk me through taking mine apart and cleaning it? My 11mo son tipped mine over after vacuuming one day while it was still full of dirty water. I set it out to dry for 24hrs and then tried...

If it's a single speed model it has two filters which should be replaced Avery couple years. There is an exhaust filter on the back which you must un-clip or un-screw to remove the cover holding the filter in place. This is a washable filter which should be washed after each use and replaced every couple years depending on use. Single speed models also have a cooling filter which is in the motor compartment and should be replaced every couple years by a qualified technician

My Hoover steam vac spin scrub will not suction up the cleaning solution . Why is there no suction?

p{margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px;} Hello,

Thank you for your recent e-mail. I am sorry to read about the problem that you are having with your cleaner.

Please make sure your recovery tank and lid are installed correctly and forming proper seals. Make sure that your filter is clean of any debris. Clean the screen in the tank lid. Make sure your nozzle and squeegee (if on your model) are free of dirt/lint/hair and attached in their holsters correctly. Make sure you do not have any clogs in the hose.

To restore suction, please try the following:

*Remove dirty water tank and clean filters- main reason for low suction is dirty filter

*Verify the dirty water tank cap is not missing.

*Verify dirty water tank lid is inserted completely into unit.

*When cleaning, the yellow float inside of dirty water tank should be free moving.

• First remove your clean water tank and unplug the machine
• Remove the dirty water tank lid and push the front panel piece (square plastic sliding piece in the front of tank) down to make sure it is inserted all the way.
• When reattaching the lid, hook the tabs on the front of the lid to the tank first, then click shut in the back. Pull up on the lid firmly, it should not lift at all. If it does, try reattaching as a seal needs to be formed for suction.
• Test to see if suction has been regained.

If these suggestions do not solve your issue please call a service center.

Your cleaner has at least a 6 month warranty for manufacturing defects. This warranty begins from the date of purchase, with the original sales receipt. If you do not have the original sales receipt, the warranty may be verified at the warranty repair center by MFG or serial number.

Please visit www.Hoover.com and click on service center locator for a list of authorized dealers in your area for service and warranty assistance.

It wont **** the water

take your dirty water tank off your machine. look for a lint filter located on the body of your machine. if ther is any obstruction on this part it will eliminate any suction. the lint filter is located behind the dirty water tank where the water comes out of the machine.

Will not **** up dirty water

If this is a Hoover Steamvac, check to see if there is a foam filter on the indise of the recovery tank lid. If there is, there needs to be at least a 1/4 in. gap from the top. Is the recovery tank lid locked down all of the way around? On some models there is a duct that inserts in front of the recovery tank, if not there, you have no suction.

I HAVE A BISSEL SPOT BOT THAT WON'T **** UP THE DIRTY WATER.I TRIED TO TAKE IT APART TO CLEAN IT, BUT DIDN'T GET VERY FAR. ANY SUGWSTION? THANKS, ...

No Suction
Possible Causes Remedies
Tank is full. Empty tank.
Dirty/Collection tank latch is not down. Push latch down, securely
into place.
Black Valve on the Dirty/Collection Tank is missing. Replace Black Valve into Dirty/ Collection tank.

Usually there is a seal out of place, or a filter is clogged, so you lose suction.

Upholstry attachement

The hose end should have a duct on it that you insert in front of the dirty water tank. It must be down all of the way so it will seal. This is where your suction starts from. Acouple of other reasons could be the dirty water tank lid is not locked down all of the way around, the back end isn't locked. If there is a foam filter on the bottom of the dirty water lid, there mustbe a gap between the top and the filter.

Solution not being picked up

Is the filter inside the lid of the tank clean? Is there a gasket between the tank and the top of the clear window. If you take the tank off, and run the machine, there should be suction coming from the square shaft, but if there is a clogged filter, or that gasket is missing, it will loose that suction and won't extract the water.

Suction button

This happens when the filter on the inside of the lid for the dirty water tank is pushed all of the way up. You need to leave a 1/4 in. gap from the top to the top of the filter
