From what you have described your Frigidaire microwave is not allowing you to operate it. I would recommend performing a reset and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker for ten minutes by flipping the household circuit breaker. If that does not help to resolve your issue I would suggest having a professional come out to provide a proper diagnosis. Best of luck! -Matt

The unit needs to be shut down by cutting power to the oven by either pulling the 110VAC plug from the receptacle or flipping the toggle on the house circuit breakers.

Hello blackchow - Try resetting the unit flipping the household circuit breaker off or unplugging it. Wait approximately ten minutes and return microwave. If it proves to be ineffective, the unit could possibly be experiencing a wiring failure, faulty control panel or magnetron or an issue with the power supply. Contact a professional to move forward accurately and to assist with the repairs.

You haven't said how long you cut power for when you flipped the breaker. These things sometimes have heavy capacitors in them taht will take a time to discharge and allow everything to reset. Before you call a service tech, unplug the unit (or flip the breaker, whatever) and leave the unit disconnected for half an hour. This may just be all you need to do.

The magnetron will not cause it to trip the breaker. Shorted High Voltage capacitor, or transformer, or bad door switches more likely at fault.

This is most likely a faulty magnetron. They go bad after a while and there is nothing you could have done to prevent it. If it was shorting out, that's why the braker blew. Your cheapest solution here would be to just buy a new microwave.
